I'm gonna be honest with everyone here. I didn't grow up on Marley's music. I knew of him, and knew that he was a wonderful writer who leaves a trace of his soul in all his works but that's all there was to it as far as I was concerned. I only started listening to his music in maybe the past 5 years? But I will forever be thankful for this song. Now, like I said, I didn't grow up to his music. I was born in the Philippines in the 90's, and I first heard of Wait in Vain through some covers that gained nationwide popularity done by some of our bands, most notably MYMP and Bamboo. And I got to say, I absolutely adored Bamboo's version. It was a soulful jazz version and it really spoke to me when I was a teenager. So now, I'm here to show my great appreciation for Bob for making this song and to finally hear the original (which as I expected would be amazingly heartfelt and emotional). Thank you, Bob. Your music is a blessing.

I was 11 years old when dad brought the album Exodus home in 1978. Id help him set up his portable discos back then and he trusted me with records. When I spun the album it blew me away. It sounded like nothing we were playing back then, (Mostly stuff like KC and the sunshine band, the Bee Gees, Michael Jacksons off the wall etc..) But Bobs music was in a unique category of its own. And this song hooked me from the moment I heard it. And Im still listening, 41 years later. Legends never die......
