Three years later in 1969, Bob McGrath would begin his nearly 50-year career as the affectionate, musical, down-to-earth Bob on Sesame Street, warming the hearts of trillions of young viewers for generations to follow.

This is kinda interesting since this was a few years before Sesame Street premiered and would make Bob an icon. Of course, I recognized the real Bob immediately. He always had such a great singing voice, but hearing him sing in Japanese is definitely an experience.

I saw a recent picture of Bob McGrath. At 83, he hasn't really aged at all! I guess all that work on Sesame Street doing kids' stuff has kept him young!

I was four (born in 1962), too young to watch this show, and too old to watch Sesame Street (but I did for the first couple of seasons anyway). I had a couple of his records for children. Should've done some records for adults. Middle aged (my generation) adults...if we think we are old now, wait until THIS generation gets to be the age WE are now!

Thank you very much for posting this on KZbin. I miss Bob's singing on "Sesame Street". come to think of it, since Elmo took over and the show is half as long, I miss "Sesame Street"!

I wish they would show Sesame Street episode 2409 where the letters were D and P,the number was 2 and where Elmo had Bob and 3 kids play "What's in this box?"They guessed shoes, then socks and finally feet, and the latter folks began tickling Elmo's feet and the cute little monster was very hysterical with his laugh.Wish they'd show that episode ,also 2400 where the kids were letter T's,and they named 3 t words tiptoeing, tweeting and ticktocking, then Gina said"I know one",Elmo said"What?"then Gina answered in a rather crazy way" Tickle!!,and that's what she did to him causing uncontrollable laughter, kids did the same thing, letters were Q and T and the number was 5.They should show these live, not still, they keep taking their own sweet time. Also 519,where the girl imagines she's bubblegum and is tickled too.The Big Trip episode where Letters are B and P and the number was 7.Big Bird tries to find 5 things beginning with B in 70 seconds. Please make an effort and find/upload these episodes?

@Caroline Woodward I don't remember Elmo tickling Bob or Gabby getting tickled, but I do remember Elmo tickled by Bob,Gina and kids, even Celina tickled Elmo on his feet.I didn't know Elmo was so darn ticklish. Maria tickled him too on episode 2678 where the letters were R and Y and the number was 3.He's not the only one that's ticklish,The Pillsbury Doughboy and I are super ticklish too.

@Caroline Woodward I 'm currently single and I love ladies of all sizes.I wouldn't mind being tickled by a BBW ,even SSBBW if she was my girlfriend, Amazon,Glamazon would be darling .,Maybe if we were watching a movie and she tickled me,I'd be very hysterical and very ticklish. You'll never guess how ticklish I am.

Oh wow! Bob McGrath three years before Sesame Street. Too bad that Bud Collyer never lived to see Bob McGrath on one of the most honored children's programs of all time. Bud Collyer died two months before, Sesame Street debuted on television (PBS).

I’ve never seen anything of this show other than this little excerpt, but you’d think they’d pick two other guys that actually knew a thing or two about Bob’s career or at least coach them beforehand. It’s no wonder the panel guessed correctly unanimously. Bob was the only one who could answer their questions while the other two just sat there like idiots.

Poston had been appearing regularly since 1959....and while the date for this show is correct, SING ALONG WITH MITCH ran from 1961 to 1964, and returned in repeats in the spring and summer of 1966.

Even in 1966 (my birth year) when they had no VCRs or DVRs, these panelists had probably seen the Mitch Miller show quite a few times during their original airings and had some kind of memory of Bob's face. I'm thinking. So, this didn't seem like the most fair round of TTTT. Still good to see Bob here.
