I don't really know how many folks out there truly realize the effect on the world of music this man has brought to the table . There are SO MANY bands that would not sound the way they do if it was not for Bob's existence .

53 ain't that "old", my friend. You'll see when you get there, if you haven't already. I have a friend who's still rockin' at 74 as are many big names...McCartney (pushing 80), the Stones, Doobies, etc. One of the great things about R&R, is it keeps us young, at least at heart!

Two guys that were guideposts in my life by the time I turned 20. Bob Mould and Dave Letterman. Bob, Grant and Greg merged my need for aggression and beauty in one, tight package while Dave was, simply, the voice of my late boomer, early Gen X generation. And the bands he championed...Dave did more for great music in the '80s and beyond than anyone else not directly connected to the music business.
@kencummings9536 ай бұрын
I have campaigned for Dave to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the non performer category and you absolutely nailed the reasons why.

K, first of all.. The Bass player FUCKING rocks out on a "John Entwistle" level... Never heard that before. Two, the band occupies FOUR minutes plus of national TV air time, and that is UNREAL. And, they totally deliver. They look fucking great. They look happy. I mean, what more do you fucking want? This has got to be one of the best gigs they ever had.

I never hear Mould on the 'alt rock' radio, which is mostly shit. And that's OK, they can't handle the truth that is Bob Mould. He's the real deal. Almost everybody else fall short of the genius and true intensity.
@alaskatoburningmen4549 Жыл бұрын
Well said! Bob is intense, Bob is real. He feels those lyrics to the core. Too much for some people to handle. Maybe that especially goes for "alt radio".
@Roddy1965 Жыл бұрын
@@alaskatoburningmen4549 So much 'alt rock' radio is 'formulaic hard' sounding, and it's really dull. I just shut it off, and hope they're gonna play some golden oldie like the Clash or something when i click it back on.

Sad? Bullshit, he looked worse in the Hüsker Dü days and is better in shape now than a lot of dead punk rockers from the 80ties. They are all gone but Bob is still here. Let´s see if you´re still rocking out when you´re in your 60ties. I guess not! Grow up dude, you will grow old sooner as you think and guess what: you´re gonna die.
