After being forced to retire prematurely, Kluzak enrolled at Harvard University, graduating in 1994 with a degree in Economics, and spent two years as the Chief of Staff for the state lottery. He then returned to Harvard, earning an MBA in 1998. Since then, he has worked for Goldman Sachs.

Great fight. 2 warriors. How many #1 overall picks would drop the gloves with Probert. If not for a Dave Lewis cheap shot leg whip in a pre-season game, Gordy Kluzak would have been a Hall Of Famer for sure.

Gord Kluzak was a great defenseman and could fight. I lived in Billings and saw him play and fight for the Bighorns. The game against Seattle they took a lot of cheap shots and injured him. Another good fighter and defenseman for that team was Bob Rouse. That same season Rocky Trottier also suffered a career-ending knee injury.
@hugomikaelsson40555 ай бұрын
The knee injury to Rocky Trottier may have been season ending but not career ending. He played several more seasons in the minor leagues and in Europe before retiring from the game.

@@khav11 Yeah, Dave Brown had a lot to do with those victories - no team could win a cup without Dave Brown lol. Kluzak was 100x the player brown was, but knee injuries fucked him up. Being a goon for 15 years (less than 100 points in 15 years, as a FORWARD lol) doesn't mean you were a good hockey player. His role could have been filled by 100 guys.

Probert gained an unfair advantage by losing the jersey. Not to take anything away from him but let's be honest he did this a lot in his early fights.
@STEJTHEGREATEST3 жыл бұрын
It was a strategy!!! Notice how at 0:56, he left himself vulnerable while he shook his arm out of his jersey because he thought he had the opportunity to do so????? He could've suffered from the shirt-shedding there if Kluzak had been able to press the attack!!! He suffered partly because of the shirt-shedding in his first fight with troy crowder as when when crowder mauled him while the jersey was over his head!!!

Good job by Gord against Jerseyless Bob. Kluzak gave just as good as he took. The reason I never felt bad for Probert when he took beatings late in his career is because of the way he constantly cheated when he got out of his jersey to gain an unfair advantage in his fights early in his career.

All you youngsters crabbing about Probert losing his Jersey crack me up! I grew up in this era and remember when Probert and Kocur came up, you couldn’t get a seat at the Joe! Jersey off or not, Probert had very little competition back then and no one typically went near him and he had free reign of the ice. Funny, one after the other, Coxe, Manson, Todd Ewing, Mike Peluso, Twist, on and on and on, didn’t last, they all disappeared. Probert was in the NHL a long time and held his own till the very end of his career. They broke the mold, and remember out of all of those guys, Probert was the best hockey player, enough said.

Probert won, but it was interesting to see how Bob didn't just free swing in the middle of the fight, he knew Kluzak still had his s#!% together and waited him out, eventually Probert got rid of the jersey and Kluzak got winded, I don't know if Kluzak has bad stamina or if he was at the end if his shift, but he was blown out at the end, also people don't think about it but, you see Bob Probert in front of you, he checks you, in those few seconds it hits you fast "Hey I'm going to have to fight Bob Probert!" That has to be the biggest shot of fear=adrenaline A human being can take.

@@trlprk no offense, but you don't know what your talking about, everybody goes through the other team's lineup to see who's with them, and who they are, especially if it's A team from another conference, cause you never see them, you especially look for new guys/rookies, and guys up from the minors, you look at his Stat's and size, when your A defenseman you definitely look at those things because guys like Probert are going to bring the heavy forecheck, and A defenseman is A dummy if he doesn't look and try to find out who's going to crush him everytime he goes back for an iceing, or who's not going to move in front of the net. Did you see how quick Kluzak threw his gloves off, his eyes popped out of his head, Probert just turned around on Kluzak to get his stick, and before he knew it he was in A fight. No offense.
