I can agree and disagree just based on personal experience.. my teacher was amazing but watching Bob Ross create it and actually use the techniques he explains is what makes it so much more relatable. If he simply told you how to do this instead of showing.. hardly any of us would get it. Visual learning is honestly a big part of art

As I’m tripping on shrooms I’m watching these videos. I find his calmness voice so comfortable. It’s crazy how someone can make you feel so at ease and not even be physically with you let alone , not even on this earth anymore. If anyone sees this I hope you’re having a wonderful day or I hope your day gets better and as well as a wonderful life. Everyone deserves happiness. I realize now that he reminds me so much of my dad who passed away 2 years ago (4/16/18). He absolutely loved art & nature and was soft spoken just like Bob (my dads name was also Bob lol). I remember being very young watching his show whenever I would came across it. Over the years I’ve heard his name but usually in a joking manner. For some reason I never thought to go back as an adult who absolutely loves art and watch his videos. I’m glad this popped up in my recommendations. That’s when I realized I would watch him as a kid because he reminded me of my dad who was away at work when I was young. It’s been comforting just watching him especially during the stress of this virus and not being able to see my other family members to celebrate my dad or Easter together. He was really was a great artist. He and his family has all my respect.

I know. It’s so hard to paint along with Bob because I have to keep pausing the video. I spend five minutes trying to get the highlights just right on one tree and he’s painted a whole forest and a lake in that time.
