Thanks for the information. I too am trying to troubleshoot a similar jackplate issue. Strangely there's very little info out there on the nuts and bolts of how these things work. I would have liked a close-up of how you disassembled the solonoids. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the info, I have the same pump and need to replace both of my solenoids and will try the Napa part.

I need your help if possible. The red led of the gauge goes out after some time when the boat is moving in the water. Green remains on. When the boat is out of the water and after some time the red LED comes on again. I've already sent a message to Bob's, they sent a description that still hasn't solved my problem.

I don't use the gauge, I go by feel where my sweet spot is and usually set it to that point. But anyway...Need to check the sending unit on the back of the jack plate. If the gauge is working intermediate. You should see a magnetic number scale attached to the jack plate. Its held in place with one phillips screw. Loosen the screw and slide the pointer as close to the sending unit. Just move it a little bit. Retighten screw. And check to see what happens. It sounds like it's not getting a good signal. Also check your battery. Is it a good battery? It needs roughly 11 plus volts for the gauge to operate correctly. Check all connections for loose wires. Go from there and see what happens. Correct me if I'm wrong.

On having the same issue, but how did you do the wiring for the napa part? Can you add a picture of yours?;
@BassGoneWilds4 жыл бұрын
Same as the original wiring for the solenoid. Take a picture of the wiring so you can look back for reference. Same order with napa.

Finally found a video with this. Having same problem. Thank you for addressing. Question. When you pulled your pump out to work on it, clean it up, did you have to bleed the hydrologics when you reattached? Thank you very much for this video

Bleed the lines leading to the hydraulics in the arm.

you need a marine solenoid for that. Im guessing those ones from Napa didn't last too long.
@BassGoneWilds5 жыл бұрын
The Napa are still working and holding up great. No issues yet. Honestly I didnt see a difference in a marine solenoid. This is just another solution if your unable to get the mercury marine solenoid use in the hydraulic pump.

@@BassGoneWilds oh good. No the one I used was for the starter, so I am guessing that is why it didn't work.

@@BassGoneWilds my issue is my jackplate got stuck all the way up.
@BassGoneWilds5 жыл бұрын
@@treylavespere8996 yep i was having an issue getting the jack plate to go down to. Eventually it started to stop working. I took the solenoids off the jack plate pump and napa had something fairly similar to that voltage and style.

You should put a camera up on your workbench so we can see what exactly you are doing/ talking about appreciate the video have a good day

It was not in my intention to show how to remove the solenoid and put it back together on the pump. There is a good video out on KZbin that shows in detail how to replace the noids on the pump. I figured i didn't want to do that. That is why I didn't have a camera up close to the pump. I was focused on explaining that this non mercury/marine solenoid works kinda thing. I guess ya live and learn. Thats why I enjoy making videos. To get better at it and hear peoples feed back. Thanks for the feed back.

pretty cool solution. Thanks. The only thing I'd cut back is the loud annoying music and long intro. But it's just my preference.

How about i dont use any music and get right to the point. ;) Im still kinda learning the the video stuff. Editing,

@@BassGoneWilds Thanks for your reply. I get it. Most people have a preference for a very short intro (5 seconds) and getting to the point. Your info is good though; let that shine! Tim

Didn't show any kind of details. Could have just said in a post. " Replaced selenoids and it worked".... Saved a video. 🤣

Well ya make videos to listen to the audience to make better videos. Sorry I didn't explain it well. I did my best. Thanks for your input 🤪
