Manhoef is an example of a top-tier striker with zero ground defense. It also does not pay to be overconfident and disrespectful. He owned the standup, but the second he was on his back, he might as well have been a fish out of water.

As much as I love manhoef and hate early stoppages, Melvin was getting hammered by this cyclops.Melvin’s like, “what? I was defending with my head pounding the canvas.” He was seriously knocked and that win was deserved.

The referee made the correct call to stop the fight. Melvin was not adequately defending himself. He was covering yet punches were getting through and he showed no indication of counter-aggression.
