We can now look back on Bob Segers' life and see not only is, he a GREAT singer, song writer, performer, but he is a man of good character. Took tens years off to raise his children. Not many rock stars put family first like that. Then comes back and performs like a champ until 74. Wow...just wow. I say thank you Mr. Seger, you've been a wonderful, memorable part of the sound track of my life, and an inspiration as a Man. Well done, sir. Well done.

I have admired him and his career ever since I stood 5 feet from him as he performed at a local VFW hall for about 30 people. His music, his life, his devotion to his family all stand far above the mass of so-called entertainers we have today. A truly humble and inspirational credit to the industry.

I read that he paid the band equal shares for live performances - same as him! The only income that he takes exclusively is songwriting. I have seen him every tour since 1980 - he and the band always look like they enjoy what they are doing and there is no place they would rather be.

Way back when I was kicked back in bed listening to a really good station we could get in Atlanta then. No commercials on what later became 96 rock , the DJ said I'm gonna play a few songs by this dude that is huge in some places. Damn he spun some killer rock and roll songs..then he said the guy is playing in Atlanta soon then he predicted after the Atlanta shows him and his band will be huge nation wide you gotta go hear em. Hell I went to see em , Agora or Alex Cooleys can't remember the name of the place at that time. Bob and Silver Bullet Band kicked ass. A few days afterward they were rocketing the top of the charts. The DJ was right on..

Summer of 1983 after just moving from Detroit to Houston for work, I got front row seats to 2nd show at Houston Summit and was screaming my head off yelling "yah Detroit rocks" often, having a great time in front of speakers and Bob Seger pointed at me and said looks like Detroit is represented here tonight. Have great memories as teen going to many Seger concerts at Pine Knob since summer I turned age 14 in 1977.

That's a good point. Without the band he's just Bob. And he sounds great don't get me wrong. But it is the group that makes the music better. Back when I was lead singer in a band, I told them plenty of times after they patted me on the back, that it was them who made me sound better. I wished love hadn't screwed me up so bad, and they could have been more supportive. We'd be on the radio today. We learn the hard way. And Bob had some hard times I'm sure.
@LaurieLaSalle266 жыл бұрын
Bob Seger loves his band, they are like family to him. Other than his covers he has written all of his songs since conception of Silver Bullet Band. He does credit his band at every show. He recently said he is still doing tours because his band is tight, they need no direction, they just know what to do. You must remember that Bob Seger recorded most of his music in studio with Muscle Shoals, his band is for his tours. He has used a few of them on studio albums, of course they are on Live Bullet and Nine Tonight, Night Moves and Some of Against The Wind. Silver Bullet is the driving force behind his tours without question, he has some of the best players on the planet...
