Met Bob when I worked at a grocery store in Michigan about 12 or so years ago. I was 20 something at the time and I couldn't believe it was him shopping for veggies. I politely said hello and that I didn't want to bother him but that I am a huge fan of his music, and he took the time to talk with me and take a picture with me. Truly a wonderful man, I was conceived the night after my parents went to a concert of his, so I had to thank him for my existence.

I think from the 70s-90s were a golden era to grow up: -Kids could just be kids -We could make mistakes that won't get immortalized online -No computers to keep us from having IRL experiences, but we're young enough to still understand technology -The music made for us was by people like us, not the best looking social media darlings who have autotune and followers -Our parents might not have all been perfect but those were the generations that actually started to try and shield their kids from the real world at least until they got their liscence -There were only so many shows so it was easy to connect with other kids in school about we all watched on Saturday night/Sunday morning -Nobody was shooting up schools -Child predators had to work so much harder because they couldn't just chat online with potential victims -Kids were able to feel like they didn't know everything because it was "on wikipedia" so you actually absorbed information better -Being a kid when N64 came out was *legendary* -I'd argue that it was easier to be an individual when you didn't have so many readily available whole personality templates and styles to choose from online. -70s kids got Sabbath, 80s kids got solo Ozzy, and 90s kids got the Osbournes. Actually, Ozzy still rules -Discovery Zone -Playing in the woods from lunch until dark -Walking to your friends house to knock on their door and ask if they can play

I absolutely love when he looked down at somebody he knew in the audience and smiled while singing 1:31 - then at 1:41 he looks down again with that huge smile and sings: "nobody's standing in your way" Bob has the most beautiful smile of anyone i have ever known. What a legend. I live in Michigan and hope he does one last concert here, but i think he is done! :-(

I was there, I was in the Marines then. This is a great fine. We were in the upper level to the left of the stage...great seats...you could see the whole stage.

Bob your the best. Your the only rocker that I have seen that when he’s not singing he’s smiling. That is the ultimate positive happy rocker I’ve ever had the privilege of watching. Your a roll model and should be something all artist should emulate. All the best to ya from us old Canadian boys.

so sad I didnt find Bob Seger until just around 5 years or so ago, and since have done a deep dive into him, his life and his music. This guy is genius level, and we are lucky to have this video to watch

The crowd went wild at 1:57 of the video when Bob went slightly higher in pitch and sang "I still aim high," because it was divine in quality and he held it a little bit longer, and the crowd knew it could not get any better than that!

what i would give to be alive in the 70s. to be standing there in that crowd with a bunch of other life lovin people, without a piece of modern technology in sight. i’m 20 and expected to listen to mumble rap and hip hop..they just don’t make music the way they used to man, when people had actual talent. watching these live performances of segar, lynyrd skynyrd, elton, the eagles really highlights that…man

No matter how much I listen to this song, I get goosebumps all over my body each time. My husband joked and said he wished I had that same reaction when he walked in. I responded that I loved him "still the same".. Lol!

At one point during the song you can see that something catches his eye in the audience and made him smile and almost laugh... Wonder what it was....

I seen him in Omaha about 5 years ago. He was "Still the same". Nailed it for a 2 hour show zero breaks. Sound was still spot on. Hell of a show. Silver Bullet Band was a staple at all of our parties. Couldn't have a party without them.

I remember the Night Moves tour. Alto was doing his solo but we didn't see him on stage and we wondered where he was...then we saw him on the PA stack playing. It was a great show and a good time party. I will never forget.

@@billmiller5741 -- Great memory! I have a similar one where Alto disappeared for a moment theh reappeared on the knee-high wall that separated the seats from the orchestra pit (old Orpheum theatre in Boston). He did a one-legged Chuck Berry style walk along the wall as he jammed his sax. Damn, I sure wish handy video cameras were around then. What a great show. Seger and the SBB in top form. RIP, Alto. Thanks for your comment! Cheers!
