Tracks 2 & 3 from their ninth release and first live album “Live Bullet” released in 1976 copyright Capitol Records. Recorded at the legendary Cobo Arena in Detroit, near Bob’s hometown of Ann Arbor, it’s one of the great double live albums and was Seger’s breakthrough. It achieved Gold status the same year, went Platinum a year later, 4X Platinum in 1991 and 5X Platinum in 2003. Written by Bob Seger and produced by Punch Andrews & Bob Seger. RIP Tommy Cartmell aka Alto Reed. Featuring:
Bob Seger - Lead vocals, rhythm guitars & piano
Drew Abbott - Lead & rhythm guitars & background vocals
Alto Reed - Tenor, alto & baritone saxes, percussion & background vocals
Robyn Robins - Organ, clavinet, Mellotron & piano on “Katmandu”
Chris Campbell - Bass & background vocals
Charlie Allen Martin - Drums & background vocals
Up with the sun, gone with the wind
She always said I was lazy
Leavin' my home, leavin' my friends
Runnin' when things get too crazy
Out to the road, out 'neath the stars
Feelin' the breeze, passin' the cars
Women have come, women have gone
Everyone tryin' to cage me, yeah
Oh, some were so sweet, I barely got free
Others, they only enraged me
Sometimes at night, I see their faces
I feel the traces they've left on my soul
Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
I tell you, those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
Travellin' man, love when I can
Turn loose my hand 'cause I'm goin', yeah
Ah, travellin' man, love when I can
But sooner or later, goin'
Oh, travellin' man, yeah
Oh, travellin' man, oh yeah
Sometimes at night I see their faces
I feel the traces they've left on my soul
And those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
Tell ya, those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
Yeah
Travelin' man, yeah, huh
Oh, c'mon now, oh yeah
Got to keep on movin'
Keep right on movin', hey
Oh, yeah
Oh, hey
He wants to dream like a young man
With the wisdom of an old man
He wants his home and security
He wants to live like a sailor at sea
Beautiful loser, where you gonna fall?
When you realize you just don't need it all, oh-oh-oh
He's your oldest and your best friend
If you need him, he'll be there again
He's always willin' to be second-best
A perfect lodger, a perfect guest
Beautiful loser, read it on the wall
And realize, you just don't need it all
Hey, you just don't need it all, you don't need it all
Oh-oh-oh-oh, don't need it all
Hey, you can try but you can't have it all, oh, no, no
Oh
He'll never make any enemies, enemies
Yeah, he won't complain if he's caught on his knees
He'll always ask, he'll always say please
Ooh-hoo-hoo
Beautiful loser, never take it all
'Cause it's easier and faster when you fall
Ah, you just don't need it all
Oh, you just don't need it all
You just don't need it all

I used to work the night shift in a shop. We had an old record player. Everyone brought in an album they liked. Each album was played. We had the music blasting. I played this album so much everyone knew all the words to every song on it. Good memories, great music. BEST LIVE ALBUM EVER.

Brianolson- Just recently I've been asking people of different ages their top 5 best live albums. I wanted to compile a list for shits and giggles. 1 stipulation was the album must be a single artist, and it must have some kind of significance or historical value. So the Woodstock album wouldn't make my list because of multiple artists. I have had this Live Bullet LP since I was 8, some 50 years now and love it as much as I did then. But I'm sorry I was the only person to put this on a list. In that defense live bullet was going up against some really strong artists. At #1 we had The Who. Live At Leeds. #2 was The Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore. #3 Led Zeppelin The Song Remains the Same #4 was Frampton come alive and #5 was LYNYRD SKYNYRD one more from the road.

Teenagers today should be rejecting the absent of human feel, fake, snapped to a grid, autotuned, clipped, programmed "popular music" of today for music that was really recorded by musicians back in the 50's - early 2000's. Music that artist actually played and sang with real human emotion. Mistakes and all.

During the late 70's and early 80's I worked as a cook at a really neat restaurant/club in Topeka KS named "The Old Way Station". My self and another gentleman named Jim Curtis were the primary cooks working in "the galley" churning out meals mostly working together 6-7 days a week. We always had the Kansas City radio station KY102 playing which played non-stop rock 24x7 while we worked. Kansas City had a number of large venues for true arena sized talent and ticket buyers. Kief's In Lawrance KS was a close ticket seller, so there were a LOT of great rock acts available to attend (Does anyone remember "Cow Town Productions?") . Unfortunately, with one of us always having to man "the galley", it was always a question of which one of us was going to get the night off to attend any given rock event in Kansas CIty. Bob Segar was one of those acts I wish I could have seen. It was the "Against The Wind" tour, and I heard from those that attended that the performance that Bob and crew did was in top form. These two songs still resonate today with me. Great music. Great talent. Great memories. Wonderful persons that I GOT to work with.
