When I was 9 years old in 65 my Dad and I would argue on road trips about Country or Rock on the radio. He said someday your gonna like this music. I feel like I'm in a Giaco commercial. Because when I turned 20 or so I had a real love for this country swing music.

I am so thankful to have found this album. I had the LP, it had a different cover so I didn't recognize it until today. The originals were awesome. I love Western Swing Music. My wife and saw and danced to the Texas Playboys in Branson MO in 1991. Eldon Shamblin and Smoke Dacus and Gene Gasaway played with otehr younger men who had played with Bob. It was a great night. Thanks again!
Love Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys since I was a we tot and this is perfect that now I can download it on my phone,I've missed all those old albums my parents had,and wished I would have gotten them after they passed away and the house was Auctioned off,glad there's sites like this.Bob Wills will always be The King of western Swing.Thankyou to this site for keeping it going

@@Mattsana I’m 59 years old and just got into this music about 5 years ago. My generation of course saw punk, metal, southern rock but I only heard of Western swing from Waylon Jennings. Finally I said to myself: “self, lets see what this Bob Wills character is all about.” Glad that I did. It’s timeless! I wish my dad was still here so he could listen with me. He was a jazz fan. There’s a lot of crossover.
@Mattsana4 жыл бұрын
@@OwenGilmoreOG It sure is fantastic. My dad likes himself some good ol' western music and country and loves these happy swing tunes with edgy riffs. To me music is so much more than just generation. Great happy music should make anyone feel happy. Or at least one would think. But back then there were so much musicality to music. For instance as we speak I'm listening intently to Zephaniah O'Hora. Fantastic newcomer with great country style. One that keeps it traditional but yet so contemporary. Lovely. You can if you listen, hear the old country, western in his music. That I love.

@@Mattsana Thanks Bruv. I'll check him out. I also like Billy Strings and Marcus King, two younger folk/country artists who do Merle Haggard covers and their own music as well. So much music, so little time! :-)

Okay, let's see if I understand this. These guys are all on a bus, and they pose in front of it, and they wear clean white shirts and ties that they put on so that they could pose for a picture. But what about the horses? Where did they come from? Were they on the bus? That must have been pretty clumsy. No wonder those guys couldn't wait to get on stage. I'll tell you what. I'll hold the horses while those guys take the stage.

They call it Western swing but it’s very eclectic. Some country, jazz, blues and just plain old Texas fiddle music. I don’t think Bob really liked the term Western swing and the cowboy costumes were part of the act. These guys preferred to dress like city slickers in natty suits and tight cravats but you don’t argue with what sells! This is but a small sample, and not the best work imho. Check out more on KZbin and the streaming service of your choice!
