Fun Fact: The bar that Boba goes to where he beats up the gang is actually Tosche Station! The same place where Luke was going to go pick up those power converters in A New Hope! And the couple in the station are two of Luke's friends from the deleted New Hope scene, Camie and Fixer. Camie is the one who called Luke "wormie" in that deleted scene!

I think the reason a lot of people love the show is that they are open to any change in the character of boba. Basically saying that the things that piss you off are really just "this might not work so writer is stupid" "this doesn't feel like boba" even though he didn't have that much screen time in the movies to let us in on how he became that way, all we saw was the badass part. And this is what I like about the show, that it tells us about him slowly to understand how he would become that. And it's fine I can really understand where your anger is coming from because it happend to me on so many shows, but you need to sit back and relax and wait to see what they are trying to do with the show, whether it's showing how badass he is, or to show his fight with his inner demons. (p.s. His father jango fett didn't wear the helmet all the time so don't draw any conclusions from the original trilogy that Boba should) with that said. I respect your points.
@lilaccident44933 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t understand how people could be open to them changing the character of Boba Fett like this. Sure, Boba didn’t have much screentime before, but there was still some sort of foundation. He was the silent, ruthless bounty hunter. You don’t change the foundation of a character without a damn good justification for it.

I'm going to write this as respectful as I can. "Fish Guy" and others is from the Pyke Syndicate, one of the most notorious spice traders. The Pykes have been known to be ruthless and kill indiscriminately, like shown in the show against the Tuskens; Boba, (after being granted a second life by the Tuskens) sees this more than just a "revenge" scheme, its also his chance to return to his way of life. You're probably asking "why didn't he take the bikes and go" Boba is a man of Honor and Stature, even if he was the most ruthless Bounty Hunter, He keeps his word. I also can't help but feel like Boba feels empathy and guilt for the Tuskens as he has killed so many of them in his past, and how people sees them as monsters (which some tribes definitely are). The Tuskens wouldn't learn from their mistakes against the train, they are too proud of a tribe and would lose a great number to the train over time so Boba puts his plan into motion to help the Tuskens. The Tuskens knew about the Necessary sacrifice required to take down the Train so in turn they could prosper without the train wreaking havoc on the tribe with each pass. The deal with the Spice shipment, is a bit speculative he could've grown a disliking to Spice as Spice mines are usually worked by Slaves, and after being a Slave himself in Ep.1; Sees the error in supporting it, (also one of the reasons he doesn't use a litter to be carried around on) That is my guess. The Deal with the Pykes is always a 50/50 Draw; If you kill them outright, you're seen as the monsters and savages you are made out to be; If you spare them, they could see the sense of civility, which could lead to a standing of respect between peoples; However it could paint a massive target on the backs of the Tusken tribe, after causing the Pykes thousands of credits in lost goods and equipment, not to mention men and the train itself, The Pykes could be vengeful against the Tuskens and obliterate them, or not waste the resources on revenge. Here's the real debacle; Sparing them or Killing them isn't the main focus here, either way there is always one survivor. The Droid train operator, We see this Droid escape, the camera having so much focus on it mean its an important plot point. To understand ones actions, you must dig deep and place yourself in their shoes; Anyways those are a few possible explanations as to why the episode played out as it did. I for one really enjoyed this episode, as it shined light on the lives of the Tusken Tribes, and the development of Boba characters from a cold blooded Bounty Hunter, to a man who carries empathy for people.

If Boba did not propose the plan to kill the sharpshooters on the train...then they will return and every time they do they will kill more tuscans. The tuscans are inevitably going to die. What matters really is how they will. So I guess yea thats probably why Boba convinced the tuskens. And earned their respect. As we later see in ep 3 the tusken tribe is killed by Nikito riders. So yea. Thats my thoughts Great video btw Loved it.

We can assume the train comes through this their land frequently considering the tuskens mention this has happened more than once. So if they did nothing they would've eventually all died out anyway. Yes they lost life taking the train, but it also put an end to any further loss of life? And it also formed an agreement that put the tuskens in control. Am I crazy here or is this really not that hard to understand? It's literally simple math. Don't stop train = Tusken village eventually dies out. Or just retaliate lose life you were going to eventually lose anyway, but actually *stop* the threat? The latter seems like the better option yes? And when he says "this is not looking good for you" It's clearly reference to when the leader asked if Boba was going to kill them all, When the leader lies about the spice Boba responds with *that* line. It's not him implying he's going to narc on the guy to the nearest tatooine police. It's him implying he won't make it out of this conversation alive. Yet another interaction that I really don't feel was that hard to understand, but you somehow come out of the scene with a complete opposite impression than literally everybody else who watched it. Crazy how you won't respond to criticisms but you'll heart your little yes-men who conform to your bias. If you can criticize we can criticize your criticizations. And while a few of your criticisms of EP.1 were valid, I can't help but sit here and scratch my head at your criticisms of this episode. Because with context of watching the episode, everything you said just gives me the impression we watched completely different episodes. Maybe even completely different shows.
@funnyguy22403 жыл бұрын
Nah but remember boba became a turkey raider within a couple days, had a complete personality change and somehow is less boba fett than the mandalorian. But go off everyone definitely has deep interactions where it definitely feels like the characters are in the same room. Boba went from the most notoriously dangerous bounty hunter to a boy scout. I'm only mad because boba fett is one of my favorite characters and there is SO much source material to use, all any of them has to do is read a couple comics or novels that feature boba fett. It's literally already written for them all they have to do is take parts and mannerisms and integrate it into the show. And they obviously can do it because the mandalorian season 1 was exactly how boba should have acted minimum dialog maximum presence. Ever heard of show don't tell? Well so far we haven't see that in any of the boba fett, I actually can't belive any fan that has actually read comics or novels or even considered boba fett as one of their favorite characters to enjoy the show it really does feel like a Disney cash cow.

I think this show is all about a bounty hunter who wants to become something more. This explains his morally questionable behavior perfectly, bc he’s always been a bounty hunter, so even tho he’s trying to get his shit together and be more of a leader, he’s going to have errors like the train sequence where he’s focused only on himself, bc that’s all he’s ever known. If this is Disney’s direction, I’m glad they’re doing it this way bc Boba turning into a morally superior Luke Skywalker of the criminal underworld type character wouldn’t make any sense, and neither would continuing to be just a ruthless bounty hunter after all that has happened to him and taking into consideration his age. Boba is kind of in the middle of two different types of characters right now, and I think that is what is throwing off so many people, since he’s never really been portrayed this way before. But I’m not entirely sure, I could be looking at this too optimistically, but I’m hopeful this is the case.

What you covered in this video, from my perspective covers something that's been itching in the back of my mind, from the mind of a fellow consumer's experience of the Mandalorian, the Book of Boba Fett, and the Bad Batch. The quote, "Like a crouton with glitter on it," and the comment of "Low consumer standards" sums up these "revolutionary" Disney Star Wars shows. Dave Filoni and Disney in general acquire great praise and kudos for making these dull shows. They did such a great job and making this unintelligible eye candy so much as to have one of the show's main characters be the entire mascot of all of modern fucking Star Wars; baby yoda! (grogu). Baby Yoda is now the modern face of all of Star Wars and is the embodiment of *the* "sparkle crouton," it's so fucking uncharacteristic and just soo damn cute. These shows do not develop the story at all and are in similar position of being in-between a sequel that is observed and its respective prequel. They are consumed with low standards and hold no higher meaning and can be summed up by one observing the final couple Mandalorian episodes: "Hey look at this! Look at that! It's a jedi! I wonder if Luke is the jedi who saves and teaches Grogu? Oh, it is Luke who saves Grogu and takes him back to the newfound jedi temple. But it doesn't matter because Kylo Ren kills all of Luke's future jedi padawans and the entire order later. Oh, look! It's Ahsoka, how cool, hope she does something cool, oh she is searching for Thrawn, wow so cool, hope to see more of that, but it's okay if nothing important to the actual story happens. Yay!" We wait for the next safe and sound show to come out, enjoying it just enough with the toys and media that comes from it just enough to be waiting eternally for the next Disney-type crippled vegetable story. Disney is afraid and it definitely shows in these two shows. Boba Fett is an improvement but not by an incredible amount and has much potential, as do all forms of Star Wars media, disney has yet to seize. You can almost tell before you even watch some of these shows that none of it (as of yet) will be important to the story just by looking at the main actors and the background actors. (This is just one interpretation and is not absolutely correct in any way shape or form). Before I elaborate on how to deduct this from the actors in the shows, I'll say a couple things. Disney is one of the largest, if not the biggest film-making company and franchise on this earth, (I think) and has some of the greatest budgets for a film's development a fellow filmmaker could ever dream of. We watch many of these shows with the hope and mindset that valuable story arcs that add to the great storyline of all of Star Wars will come from consuming these series. From the Mandalorian, we see poor choreography, acting and overall preparation (relative to expectation of important story coming from this series and relative to the Disney budget appropriate to a Star Wars show) to set the story up and it is as if we are watching a bunch of random joe shmoes in space costumes making a space film with a high budget and great CGI. In the end of two entire seasons of the Mandalorian we get a lot of pointless quest-like story missions that create no story development. Wow! Big shocker! It's almost as these shows are fillers until Disney's next big movie that does contribute to the story! Disney is dipping its toes in to test the waters. In the book of Boba Fett, we observe Temuera Morrison in shoes of Boba Fett. Boba Fett is in his early 40s and is supposedly the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy. The average person would think along the lines of, "Hmm, he must be pretty strong, clever, and powerful to achieve that title in a gargantuan galaxy." We get to see Boba Fett in his series, and he has the body of a papa. Unexpected? Yes. For a show with a great budget that is supposed to have the potential to add to the story line greatly they should be able to pay Temuera Morrison enough to at least get in shape and not look like my dad. He doesn't have to be ripped, he only should fit the role and the costume. Literally, fit the costume. Finally, this is the last thing I have to say, in my absolutely pathetic rant: Why would they not have proper quality of film and actors if this show was invaluable to the story? But anyways, my feedback on this video is that I am loving the reviews Vorp! Keep 'em coming!

Also just kinda pissed about the tuskens…. We always saw them as ruthless in the movies, and now we’re seeing the tribal part, which I get is sorta cool, but I miss the scary, creepy raiders they are in the movies. HECK OBIWAN WANTS TO GET INSIDE IN EPSIODE 4!! When I was a kid I legit used to be scared of these things. And now it’s kinda like ok they’re just weird humans with zero technology that somehow stop a train and people with massive amounts of technology but whatever. And one more thing… what is Disney’s obsession with fights on movie trains. The WHOLE time I’m watching this epsiode on the train, all I can picture is the train fight in solo and the train in Captain America. Yes that’s a different movie entirely but Disney’s already done a train fight in solo. GIVE US SOMETHING KNEW!! The train fights are getting repetitive.

like all star wars movies begin "A long time ago, on a galaxy far far away" we already know what happened overall, but we want to see the details of it and this show is providing it.. much like obi wan, we will see a story we already know the "end" but we will be waiting to see every aspect of it.

Have you completely forgotten that the flashback scenes to the tuskens are showing a version of boba who then LATER BECOMES the “rule w respect” Boba?

Episode 2 was definitely better but it still wasn’t perfect. He definitely takes his helmet off to much but there were some really good scenes in this episode. I loved the scenes in the Mayor’s office and the Hutt scene. I do agree that the interactions feel kinda hollow but I can get past that to some degree since it’s still early. That bar scene also felt badass, but I definitely see the concern with the bikes and you make some solid points. The train scene also does have a lot of flaws which you pointed out, definitely took me out of the episode a fair bit since I was constantly thinking about how the pykes will rebel as they have been shown to be ruthless in the past. Overall I’m not sure I’m a fan of this new Boba he is a little too goofy for me, I don’t mind the wanting to rule with respect I think that works but he definitely need to be colder and more ruthless. I think this episode was alright but overall even after episode 3 the series doesn’t feel like the masterpiece everyone claims it to be, it’s ok but does Boba dirty a fair bit and doesn’t think things through enough to have a really solid plot.

I am fascinated by your critique. Before, I was damn near incapable of not liking something, now I have gotten a lot more critical, yet hearing the Critical Drinker, Shadiversity or your reviews on various things I think I am still fairly easy to satisfy. I am not sure if I would like to develop more into that or not. Is it better to live in albeit *true* for oneself bliss or see through the lense of true and proper filmmaking? What IS considered true and proper filmmaking anyway, so many variables and questions. Regardless of these questions I enjoyed the vid haha, hope the show get better, enough to satisfy all of us.

I think there is certainly a balance between "This is not true film, modern society is but a shell of all that has come before, and we are all doomed to a slow and sad end that can't even be preceded by good media" and "Who cares if it isn't all up to par? Gun go bang, explosion loud, and visuals look good, I'm happy.". Always being able to see multiple sides is good as well, don't surround your feed with JUST generally cynical reviewers or JUST generally positive reviewers. Personally I've found I nice balance with those with generally negative outlooks (Critical Drinker and the like), people more in the middle (Shadiversity, Thor Skywalker, etc.), and those who are very positive (Star Wars Explained and others).
