Really clean bobber.....nice profile and lines. Great engine too, with more H.P and torque than a comparable H-D, Twin Cam 88 (1.450cc) engine. 4 valves per cylinder to H-Ds, 2 valves per cylinder. 2 spark plugs per cylinder, to H-Ds, 1 spark plug per cylinder. No PLASTIC cam chain tensioners or silent chain drive which can stretch and affect cam/valve timing like the Twin Cams. All METAL GEAR DRIVE to operate the twin cams on this bike, too. Also, this bike has a heavy, auto style, crankshaft, 45bs. with auto style connecting rods, to H-Ds, lightweight only pressed together, crankshaft, which are notorious for twisting out of true, quickly and damaging or even cratering engines. All Metal Gear primary drive on this bike too, compared to H-Ds, primary chain drive, and PLASTIC primary drive tensioner, which is a wear item, and has to be periodically inspected and replaced. This machine truly delivers all the power for efficiently cruising the open road......1602cc of pure, power on demand with a large 40mm, Mikuni Carb.....

My list, too. Old HD rider and restorer, here, but Road Star convert. Another great point is the "compression release" concept starter cam. It cuts way down on piston-wrist-pin-connecting rod and crank shaft stress by lowering the compression just during start-up. Frikkin genius way to ad miles and years of life to big ol V-Twin. Another thing HD could try. Maybe in 10 years.

From an old HD rider/restorer - My same list, now that I'm a Road Star fan. But here's a couple of good ones to add: 1) The genius idea of a "compression release starter cam" that ads many years and miles to engine life by relieving compression just at start-up. and 2) my fave argument - Road Stars are way superior bikes at way lower prices. I bought a like new 2000 Silverado with 30,000 miles for $3500. Equivalent HDs were going for $9-$15k - ridiculous!

Nice Nice Nice. Inspiring. Love the trick starter! Since I'm also running a Sportser tank on my Road Star bobber project, I think I'm going to replace my fuel pump with a coil and ignition combo bracket (like old school HDs had). I hope to post my 2000 Road Star rebob up here maybe next Spring. I'm trying to make it a "bolt-off/bolt-on" idea - convertible back to a full dress stock Silverado. With no permanent chopping that can't be retro-fitted back to stock.
