I have had all of the above. The first neurosurgeon that saw the CT scans said that 1. My lower back looked like it was made by the Flintstones 2. He would not touch me even if I came crawling on all fours. The pain and tingling started when I was 24 years old.The right physical therapy has kept me going without pain. I am now 75. And the bending forward helps to relieve compression and free the sciatica.

Have you tried Life Extension's boron with B2? It is helping me and my cousin. Magnesium might also be helpful if it involves sciatica. Doan's backache pills are a form of aspirin bound to magnesium.

@Beth's VanVentures same here and I went to two of the best hospitals - Wake Forest and, Duke University. It would have been my second surgery, 5 different neurosurgeons concurred that I was too involved at every level. But interestingly, a surgeon back in the state that I lived in did do a surgery @ 3 levels and of course I'm worse! A third surgery was scheduled a few years later but I canceled, no matter how good the surgeon each time they go in you just develop more scar tissue and end up worse. I already have paraparesis and I have to pull my legs into the car which is exhausting especially with weak upper extremities. I give up, have to live this way the rest of my life, thankfully I was an OT for 35 years so I do know some techniques to keep me semi-functional at home. The show helps too 👍

If viewers haven’t purchased their percussion gun, do it! I am in Australia, recently purchased the gun from Amazon. I use it on my crps legs and foot. I find it helps with the pain during a flare. Almost like it confuses the pain message. I have DJD of the spine and the gun helps with the muscle spasms and stiffness. Never directly put on bones or joints, even by accident. I’m going to purchase a second gun. Thank you Bob and Brad for all of your videos and your amazing gun 🥰

I had the same thing in 2014. I couldn't walk had no control over going to the washroom and I was barely cohesive from the pain. My husband had to call me an ambulance. The surgeon removed a large calcium growth off my L5. When I saw the MRI at my follow up I cried and hugged the surgeon for helping me walk again. My sciatic had been crushed by the growth. It's nice to find people who understand what it's like to go through that. Thank you for sharing 🙂

I'm 65 years old and have been plagued with spondylitis and spondylitis for almost 2 decades. I suffer some days worse than others. My spine surgeon fused C3-C6 due to a Judo tournament mishap. I severely injured my low-back while in the USMC 1977. L1-S1 have bone on bone or severe narrowing between vertebrae as well as narrowing foramen pinching nerves. I say all this to share my surgeon's wisdom for low back. "Avoid back surgery for as long as I can. Repeat surgeries are common with no guarantees. Develop and keep a strong supporting core. I testify that his advice works more times than not.

I take boron 6-9 mg daily. It doesn't help my shoulder problem but it really helps my spondylolisthesis. Boron is an important mineral component of the vertebrae. I started to taking 3 my daily for whatever reason and after a year I realized my spondylolisthesis was much better and the only new supplement I had added was boron. When I began to double the dose I pretty much stopped having any flare ups at all. My brand, Life Extension also contains riboflavin (B2). I read that boron might require extra B2. I gave a bottle to some relatives. Again my relative with the shoulder arthritis got no improvement but the one with back problems finds a lot of relief with 15 mg..

Awesome video! Ankylosing spondylitis is definitely systemic. It's autoimmune. It often attacks the SI joints first. And lots of other weird stuff including the eyes sometimes. My dad was recently disgnosed with it. But he's pretty tough and just deals with it. It doesn't bother him much. His dr said it is genetic, though, and that some of his kids probably have it. I almost certainly do. I've had the symptoms for around 30 years. It does bother me. Plus my mom has scoliosis, which is also genetic. I am diagnosed with that. Fun times! 😅 My grandma has the lumbar fractures. She fell in her 50s and fractured a couple. She just dealt with it until her 90s. At about 92 they did a cool surgery where they infused her now crumbling vertebrae with I think resin. It didn't make her young again, but she said it helped. She's 93 1/2 now and uses a walker, but for being that old, she's remarkably mobil still. I really liked this video. I was wanting to see something just like this! 👍

I’m currently being tested for inflammatory diseases but I wholeheartedly believe it’s ankylosing spondylitis. What were your dad’s earliest symptoms?
@anyascelticcreations2 жыл бұрын
@@Kat-qr7hv I really feel for you and can definitely relate. My dad didn't actually feel all that much from it. Not compared to me, anyway. He seems to have barely felt enough to mention it to his doctors. That being said, I do remember probably a good 30 years ago now that his dr said that the vertebrae in his neck had fused. Now his doctors say that he has severe inflamation and arthritis throughout his spine. I think he just has an unusually high pain tolerance and doesn't feel it like most people would. But it shows on his x-rays. And he recently tested positive for the indicator that shows up in his blood. I forgot what it's called, though.
@anyascelticcreations2 жыл бұрын
@@Kat-qr7hv I had all the typical symptoms, though. So, I'll tell you about those. I've had back and neck pain all my life. In my 20s and 30s I had a lot of SI joint pain. My other joints have problems, too. The x-ray I got of my spine when I was around 35 was covered in arthritis and bone spurs. The dr said at that time that I had the spine of a 60 year old. I have a lot of autoimmune issues, too. All the drs said I have an autoimmune disease, but they couldn't find which one. (They didn't test for this one. Or for EDS.) But I get sick very easily and my body overreacts to everything. It usually takes steroids to stop the reactions. I also have chronically severely inflamed eyes, which also sometimes comes with AS. Again, the eyes respond to steroids, but not much else. I hope that information helps you. And if you think it might be this, definitely ask your drs to specify do a blood test for it. It isn't common in women. So if you don't ask, they might not think to test for it.

The 'Y' in each word is soft. Instead of making it sound like an E, it is "spondilo....just a soft i. I've been through 2 surgeries with 4 vertebrae fused. L2-L5. Spondylosis, Stenosis, and spondylolisthesis along with vertebrae rubbing against each other and bulging discs. I really did well for about 9 years after fusion of L3-L5 along with laminectomy and decompression. I had the 2nd surgery in 2020 where L2 was added, but I've been having problems with various symptoms and have an MRI in 8 days going up to my thoracic vertebrae. I also have the Retrolisthesis at some levels, but it's not an issue that I'm aware of. I'm a damn trainwreck and hoping for some pain relief again.

hoping for a reply from you. went to gym in feb start this year, lifted heavy weights all of sudden, came back home and felt pain in low back. the moment i felt, i stopped doing any heavy thing, no gym, no lifting, no nothing, just simple rest... throughout the feb, my pain was decreasing very slowly, after 1 month (start of march) my pain was less but it was not completely gone. so decided to check the doctor. got diagnosed with spondylolysis l5, dr said nothing serious its common in athletes and i would recover with time and rest.. he gave me vit D supplements because I'm a pure veg. so after 10 days of meeting Dr, i felt that my strength in back was there. though it wasn't like i feel completely healed but it's was a lot a lot better, i had very little pain in doing normal activities. now it's been 2 months since i consulted the Dr and almost 3 months from when i first felt pain, i have almost no pain. once or twice in a week, i do a 10mins run and yuppp no pain... but still i feel a little discomfort (not pain) or you can say some little muscle pain, don't know what it is? do know what it is, because i feel like I'm in last stage of healing, is it muscle fatigue, because i don't have any sharp pain that comes from bone... what do you think? one thing i did which was good is, i stopped putting pressure on my back the day i felt pain... what's your take? am I on the correct path? and forgot to tell, im 20... last 3 months of rest were certainly very depressing... because i was a very active person is it my psychological myth? because in last 3 months, ive been thinking about my back 24-7.. so it might be im feeling discomfort ,not pain, because of over exagerating ... and also now when i do a tight side strech, i literally feel that same back strength when i do left stretch (which is the side i had that stress fracture) as when i do right side stretch... 3 months ago i used to feel a sharp bone pain when i used to perform left side stretch.. so in my opinion, this could be indicator that something has improved for past 3 months rest course, or may bone is healed completely and the muscle is now regrowing... can say but in the past 3 months, last few days were the happiest because i was feeling that same old strength except that obnoxious muscle or whatever discomfort kind of dull pain... i feel that discomfort on a broad area likeon my left butt, and side... not a pointed sharp pain which i used to feel at the beginning of injury... what's ur take

My daughter was diagnosed with ankliotis spondylitis (probably didn't spell right),. Her left hip fused to her spine at age 14. They thought it was a birth defect. At age 16, she was a dancer for three years by then, her right hip was fused to her spine but at a tilt, she continued being an elite dancer all her high school years. Her doctor said her core strengthening is what helped her a lot. Her last x-ray shows her spine fused past her L5. We are praying it doesn't continue. Thank you for your videos. I learn a lot.

Hello Bob & Brad, I was diagnosed with mild lumbar spondylosis after an ultrasound or CT scan - didn't remember what it is called. The findings are: There are five lumbar type non rib bearing vertebral bodies in satisfactory alignment. There is incomplete fusion of the posterior elements at L5. Mildly decreased intervertebral disc height is seen at L3/L4. Mild anterior osteophyte formation is demonstrated at L3, L4 and L5. Mild lumbar spine facet arthropathy. Visualized lumbar spine vertebral body heights are preserved. Lower lumbar thoracic spondylotic changes are also seen. Basically I have no issue standing/sitting up straight. Movement like putting on boxer after shower create issue. I have went for a few sessions of physio. It loosen it a bit right after. Is there anything else I can do? Will it ever heal completely?
