Thank you both so much, your help saved me from what I thought would be a life of chronic pain. Even after 6 months of therapy , the frequency reduced, but never left. Your video on referred pain seemed like familiar issues. It felt better immediately, and now after 8 months is gone completely 1 out of 2 days. I am grateful beyond words. Bless you.

In lockdown in the UK - no physio - you guys have turned the tide for me; gained so much knowledge, followed through and kept fibromyalgia stuff from swamping me. And you have given me back good deal of control. Thank you so much for all your willing help.

I just tried the Chirp yoga wheel and that is the best thing for ELIMINATING the knots in my back. I went to massage every week for years. One time with Chirp did more than 7 years of massage. It is incredible.

By the way there was a typo the correct spelling is Dr. JAMES CYRIAC Orthopedic surgeon. His original protocol was 8 min for TFT then reduced to 3min yrs later for the reasons you mention. Mainly difficulty to endure pressure w/o getting tired or finger strain. Ice also for 10min post tx may be comforting. I learned this in clinical oryhpedics at Texas Chiropractic College 1988. TFT strengthens tendon/muscle tissue whereas TPT and ischemic compression releases pressure and tension. In chronic soft-tissue lesions there maybe adhesions you mentioned and scar tissue with induration requiring a barrage of movements for 3 mins 3x day consisting of rapid variations of tft,, ischemic comp., stroking. The same technique can be used to remove stubborn dried up strains on surfaces with appropriate cleaning agent and rag also fyi. Retired chiropractor l.m.t. turned janitor. 😆

Hmm, what does it mean if pressing on my knots doesn’t cause me pain? Based on their description, pressing on a knot causes you pain but mine just feel hard and numb.

As an LMT. I actually don’t use that many tools on my clients. (My own arms/hands I use lots of tools and especially ice :) saving the hands comes from learning how to use table height/gravity and lots of stretching to tag along the effleurage and NMT
@whostolemunchkin Жыл бұрын
Massage therapist, absolutely agree. Table height and the correct stance makes all the difference, you 'brace' your body and the force comes mostly from your legs and gravity. Imagine how you stand if you're pushing something large & heavy forward (like a wall or heavy door) One foot in front of the other, back leg in line with your back/spine, with your arm angled forward making another triangle. You can instantly feel the difference, hours of work and not that much strain on the arms, but without the right posture & only using your arm/hand strength you'll feel the strain in minutes. Quick tip for table height - stand facing the table, make a fist and swing your arms back and forward like a pendulum. You want your knuckles to just brush the top of the table, not bump into it or too high above it. Just those two things will save a world on pain with manual massage Also, when it comes to pain - it should never be truly painful, just pressure. Don't keep going and "push through the pain", ease off the pressure & maybe give that spot a rest for a bit before coming back to it. No pain no gain does NOT apply here, and it's usually easy to tell when you cross the point from pressure to pain. If you think "ow" that's too much.

Can anybody help me I started my baseball season recently and I’ve thrown open body and it’s killing my shoulder and I’m just trying to know what’s wrong with my shoulder?
@trelligan423 жыл бұрын
It's possible that there's not even anything wrong with your shoulder, but that you're using it wrong. Or some combination of pre-existing condition and usage. (Keeping your shoulder blades pulled in during most movements helps a lot of the time.) It might be worth a trip to a physical therapist who can suggest exercises to improve/correct your throw.
