I broke my tailbone off 25 years ago after a very hard fall down an entire flight of stairs. After the bone had to be removed i wasnt given any after care bh the surgeon just patted me on the back and shoved me out the door. I've had level 11 pain for all these years. I have a rare genetic eye disorder and I'm going blind now, and need to get up and be more active, but that was impossible with the pain from that area. I did the part with the football and the other movement you guys showed. I'm almost in tears to where the pain is almost entirely gone and it was instantly. I'm going to continue this and hopefully remain pain free. You both are phenomenal instructors and I am so utterly grateful to you both for sharing your knowledge. ❤❤❤ Thank you both.

Bob & Brad, You are god sent. I was desperate yesterday night, after 6 months of tailbone pain. I tried all wedge cushions,donut cushions and also took a steroid injection. I saw an earlier video of the pillow trick and have been following that since last month and that was the only relief in my life. This problem is so unaddressed. No doctor pays any attention to it and a patient lives a crippled disabled life. I have completely avoided going out, travelling, meeting friends, I avoid sitting and stay home isolated to avoid pain. Yesterday night I prayed hard and kept crying due to the pain and the fear of having this for lifetime and today I came across this video. You are truly god sent. I am sitting on a chair right now typing this message with 90% reduction in pain. I didn't have the back pod or ball but i saw your other hot and cold pack sock rice video and used that as a support and did this exercise thrice for 2 mins in the past 3 hours. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou So much. You guys should be awarded something precious for all the free service you are doing and for changing and touching our lives. ❤️ May god bless you with all the happiness in the world !

When I was in 4th grade, a classmate thought it funny and tripped me in PE class while I was running backwards. I experienced sciatic pain, hip pain, and lower back pain since. I am in my mid 50's now and live every single day with back pain. An MRI done several years ago, confirmed a fracture of the coccyx bone. This is the first time I have ever heard the issue addressed. Thank you!!! ❤

I can honestly say that the single most effective thing I have found to reduce the pain is accupuncture and several stretches. My acupuncturist has been working with me for over 2 years. Over time, it has significantly reduced my pain levels. I am finally almost pain-free for much longer periods of time.

I use the pillow for my tailbone pain. I roll it up like you did, and tie it on each side with a strip of cloth to hold it's shape. I make two pillows if I have alot of pain, one for each leg, and put them length wise under each leg at a slight angle. You will have to put a large pillow on ur lower back to be comfortable sitting back, if you are going to sit for awhile. This is very comfortable. Once in awhile u will have to reroll your pillows again, as they get flat the more u sit on them. You will know when...for me about 6 to 8 weeks. I tried everything, and I mean everything else. This works. Ps:I love your videos. I tell everyone I see about the two most famous physical therapists on the internet...in my opinion of course....lol.

Thanks guys. I wrote to you a while ago about this stuff. You rock for listening and trying to help! Much appreciated! Your videos are often helpful. I’ve been suffering with hyper-mobile + damaged tailbones, and tipped sacrum, for several years with no relief. tried everything. I can’t sit or lie on my back. These things also trigger a whole slew of other connected problems. It’s crazy that most Doctors don’t have knowledge or answers when it comes to the tailbones (plural), or even the sacrum. And most think it’s not a thing - not real. Thank you for acknowledging that this is real. The Tailbone doctor (Dr Patrick Foye) in New Jersey might also be helpful to some people. Although he wasn’t able to help me, he has helped a lot of other folks with coccydynia. However he completely ignored the tipped sacrum. I’ll definitely try your tips for that.

I fell onto my tailbone and it took 15 years for Drs to figure out what was causing my pain. The pain would move to different areas. One Dr said he thought it was my hips, another put a lift in one shoe(3 days later was in wheelchair I couldn't walk) took lift out and could walk again. Another Dr said I was heavily overweight, I smoked, my mattress was lumpy(it was brand new) and I was depressed and need a psych eval. (I was depressed in 13 months my dad, grandfather and my mother passed away). My family Dr sent me to one last Dr. He found the problem just looking at my x-rays (that all the other Drs saw. My tailbone was broken. Had to take the last 2digits out cuz they were completely broke off. The third digit had broken but was still attached and healed kinda crooked. He wouldn't take it out uz it was attached to a nerve and said I only had a 50/50 chance of walking. I'm still in pain L4-L5 & S1. Not much they can do. I've got arthritis in back and neuropathy in my right leg.

When I drive I constantly have to move & adjust myself bc after sitting for any legth of time it hurts soooo bad. I didn't have insurance at the time so I never got it checked out. I've noticed it has hurt more since I slipped on a tray in the concession stand in 2014 & landed on my left hip (ball & socket direct impact). Again didn't have it checked for same reason. Aw, that’s painful. 🙁 There’s a special way of doing X-rays for the coccyx. Not all doctors know about it. I learned about it on The Tailbone Doctor’s website (Dr Patrick Foye). You could search for it. I told my doctor, then she read it and was able to communicate that to the technician. It’s very specific. Also, Dr Foye developed an X-ray technique that focuses on the tailbones much better.. called a coned down X-ray. But I think he’s the only one that has this machine, and he’s in New Jersey.

I have had coccydynia since the birth of my first child 51 years ago. This was confirmed with xrays. I learned how to sit to avoid pressure on my coccyx until earlier this year when I had a laminectomy and fusion/bone grafts. I can no longer sit to avoid pressure on the coccyx other than sitting on a diningroom chair with my weight under my thighs (ie sitting forwards). I have tried a special cushion with no success. My question is, are your suggested exercises recommended for post laminectomy (6 months ago) and if not what other options do I have besides surgery, to be able to sit on a normal chair, as these all have a gentle slope backwards which negates any attempt to sit forwards?

I use one of those u shaped cushions. Most can be used in anywhere you sit. They do help if you find the right one for you. I got one that was soft memory foam ones. Firm was too hard for me. I also have a thick pillow i put behind me that helps keep my posture upright in a comfortable position where i dont slouch. For me, the pain i feel is mainly a dull ache. Usual when i sit in hard chairs, lean over, reaching, or sit in an unusual way, or lift anything more than 10 pounds that is bottom heavy. Its really an uncomfortable feeling. I think it also affects my nerves in my hands. My fingers twitch. It does go away and I have good days. It's just I never know what will aggravate it.

I NEED HELP!!! I can’t lay down on the floor or any harder flat surface without adjusting my buttocks so it’s at an angle- either I have to scoot my buttocks back or tuck my hips forward to get off of a bone sticking out at the very top of the buttocks crack. Is there anything I can do at home for this? The area isn’t painful but it’s also numb. Is this a tailbone injury or a sacrum injury???
@always12lovemusic25 күн бұрын
If it's when you're lying down, it sounds like the sacrum. If it's numb, it sounds like you have nerve damage or compacted nerves.

What do you do if your tailbone is curled under? So what I think is the opposite problem you're describing here
@always12lovemusic25 күн бұрын
Apparently there is an option for a professional therapist to do a manipulation of the bone via the rectum. Good luck!

Guys question on back pain, you know how you usually say posture posture posture🙂 sit with spine straight & lumbar support etc.. My question is what if someone is extension intolerance don't you think with the lumbar support we're putting pressure on the spine in an extension plus the pressure from weight of the torso, when we put somthing behind the lumbar are

I have recently been having severe pain in this area I do have arthritis and I fell backwards maybe eight months ago and landed on my butt on a case of water I was bringing in groceries & slipped on a plastic bag. Why it waited so long before I get any type of problem I don’t know i’m in physical therapy right now and they are treating me for piriformis they seem like they’ve never heard of this I’m about to let them know and see what they think they won’t give me an MRI until I have completed physical therapy. It hurts to drive do you have any suggestions I saw the pillows but how can you put pillows under your legs when you’re trying to drive? I usually just try to be on one hip or the other but then getting out of the car I almost have to scream it hurts so bad I really have been watching you guys you’re excellent even my PT therapist had heard of you guys when I told them I had locked up piriformis and he knew your names anyways any suggestions are appreciated for the car and try to drive with some comfort that is safe thanks

I use a wedge cushion with a coccyx cut out for the car. It's not perfect, but it does help. Car seats are the worst because of the backwards, downwards angle that puts so much pressure on your coccyx. I don't recommend using a wedge cushion on normal seats, I find the wedge (even though it has a cut out) puts more pressure on the tailbone (from each corner of the cut out in my case). Another thing I've used (and even took it flying) was a pool noodle. I bought 1, chopped it up and tied the 3 pieces together and then put them in a pillow case. I love sitting on bench seats because I can hang my tailbone over the edge without any pain (as he describes with the rolled up cushion here). The great thing about the pool noodle is that it can make any seat like a bench seat! It's also SO much cheaper to buy 1 pool noodle and some string and put it in an old pillow case than to buy a proper physio therapy cushion as those things can be very expensive! (And no where near as helpful in my experience).

Thanks to Brad Team for recommending this video to me. I’m going to a chiropractor later this week I’ll have her check my iliac. I bought one of the retail donut pillows but it was making it worse. I think if I fold the pillow in half and place it under my thighs it might work.

Hey, on a plane, if you have a firm neck cushion, you could SIT on it with the opening toward the back of the seat...maybe???

Yeah fell at 16 right on my butt I suffered over a year or more. My parents did nothing. I didn’t find out until I was in my 30’s getting my first MRI that I broke it. Now 30 some years later I still have pain. I have even tried your exercise but nothing helps.

Wow!! I got cortisone shots in my tailbone two separate times, but I’ve never fallen. I have a Tarlov cyst on my tailbone, and it’s so painful. It felt like there was a rock in my butt crack all the time… very painful! The shots help my pain, but of course it hurts to get them 😢

Wow, I am so sorry 😞 that sounds so painful. 😢 I have had pain like that for over 20 years. Had all those test amd MRIs and they only said it isn't bad enough to need surgery.. wtf? Does that mean...ugh and here I sit, stand, walk and cry in constant pain 24/7 and nobody seems to care. I don't trust Dr's any more.

Mine has been crooked/broken in childbirth over 40 years ago. I can’t sit! I’ve tried everything even rectal manipulation. Ive taken pain medication for all those years. I either stand or lay down, however I’m getting older and get tired from standing. My biggest fear is someday being confined in a wheelchair. I would rather die . Oh I hope your info can help.

I had a similar experience but was fortunate to recover eventually. Also glad the baby recovered too as he was born unconscious. Got some funny looks in the special baby unit from the staff when I tried to sit. I wonder, would it help if you sit on a ring?.

@@wendyrowland7787 when I fractured my tailbone, I was given a donut ring to use. It really helped. That was about 20 years ago. I still have trouble sitting on a hard surface or on anything that’s not padded.

I live my life standing too. It’s really hard living this way.. I stand at the kitchen table to eat. Stand a lot to watch TV. Stand everywhere and people want me to have their seat! Walking is good. Sometimes a TENS unit helps temporarily. Or a heated flax sack while laying on my stomach. I hope you can find relief. For me, I have lived with this for several years and know it’s not going away. If I have to live with it I try not to let it take control of my life mentally. Hang in there! Attitude can be a life changer.

I have hairline fractured my tailbone twice. In 2008 & 2014 an all theses years later I’ve developed a bone spur on it. It hurts to sit. I have to try position myself on one cheek to the other and lean. I also have the ball off my foot that has a bone spur on it and the opposite knee buckles and goes out on me with a shooting pain. I spend most of the day laying on my stomach with my hope chest in front of me as if were a table. Which I’m leaning on my elbows and that is starting to really bother my shoulders. Let’s just say I’m a wreck. But you said I wish this was a packers football 🏈 I lol’d 😂. Laughter is the best medicine.
