I'm kinda torn on it. In that oprah interview, whitney imo seemed to be rather honest and was adamant about him not hitting her. On the other hand, she still seemed to be in that mode of protecting people. Like talking positively about her family. It was like she was ready to tell it all but still in denial about certain things.

It seemed like her definition of physical abuse was punch, kick, stomp etc... And not the slap, spit or shove that she experienced. Also in the Diane sawyer interview she was happy to disclose that she hits him when she's angry like that's OK. Hitting an insecure immature man with bipolar can lead to a violent response. Both shoulda kept their hands to themselves..

@@rmsangel242 on Bobby's reality show she was always threatening to hit him. I think she held back a number of times cos the cameras were on her. He flinched a few times too which suggest he was used to getting hit . I believe she was able to control robyn cos of the way robyn felt about her as a result she was v secure in friendship /relationship even bragging robyn ain't going nowhere . She didn't have that kinda power over guys. Eddie and bobby knew how much she wanted to be in a relationship so they held the power. Threatening them would bring her worse fear to pass - they'll leave her.

She was still protecting him. She wasn't open. Her answers were contradictory. She said he wasn't physically abusive and then in the next sentence she said he slapped, pushed and spat on her. She either was embarrassed and din't want people to pity her or she was still looking out for him.

He said in his book that he hit her once, after he denied it, after again he did an interview when in the beginning he denied that hit her, when the woman who was interviewed him insisted he said "yes I hit her just once!" why he is lying like this?? Even Robyn said in her book that he hit her and spat on her!

Whitney said in her Oprah interview that there's more she coulda told... Apart from protecting him she prolly felt a lil embarrassed too. After all, she'd been bragging to the world for years that he was the best husband and a perfect gentleman and that we didn't know him like her and that he was kind and sweet yada yada yada.. , so to come out and say actually he was the totally opposite.... And tell all of it.... . Hmm that's a hard pill to swallow.

Bobby may not have been the cause of her addiction but his crazy ass was stressing her out which caused her to use more, which was probably causing him to use more and there is this vicious cycle. She should have just taken that L and divorced his ass. Really, that marriage should not have even happened cause he was acting up before they even gotten married.

Whitney said Bobby's behavior got worse after her father passed away. There may have been serious physical fights that Sylvia witnessed, I imagine Sylvia would call robyn in a distressed state and Lisa would be staring at robyn like ' you best not answer that call!!'. After ten missed calls back to back, robyn would be like, 'it might be urgent' , Lisa would be like 'you promised me, remember? New beginning, no more Whitney world. Robyn would reluctantly say... Hmm OK..... By this time dishes are being thrown around in the houston /brown household and so Sylvia goes for a loooong walk and prays to da Lord .... Just a thought

I guess Robyn cut Whitney off because she didn't want to offend Lisa. Sometimes I can't help but side eye Lisa and Robyn. Lisa was no different than Bobby. Bobby didn't want Whitney to be close to Robyn and Lisa didn't want Robyn to be close to Whitney. Let's be honest Both Bobby and Lisa were intimidated and insecure by the Whitney-Robyn bond. And I don't think she would've allowed Whitney to stay at her house and Robyn didn't really mean that when she told Whitney she is welcome at her house. How did she expect Whitney to reach out for help or arrange to talk if she is ignoring her calls? Robyn seems to be in denial about a lot of things. Isn't it also a coincidence that Robyn and Lisa adopted the Twins in 2009. The same year that Whitney is seen sober, healthy and back in the business with a #1 album lol. Am I the only one who see the contradictions in Robyn's story?

@@brokeaf4209 I think it's slightly different. I don't think it was robyn's place to play superhero and save her from her husband. Knowing whit she'd probably yell at robyn saying i didn't ask you to come it's none of your business. Bobby hated robyn's constant presence from the get go even before the marriage. He had a problem with their close bond. Robyn on the other hand was broken when she reconnected with Lisa after leaving Whitney world. I can understand why she would feel some type of way when robyn was about to be sucked back. Plus Whitney blocked robyn's arista job, that had Lisa pretty mad too. Whitney would call and leave messages and no number. If she was serious she'd leave a number. The adoption and album release in the same year was just a coincidence. Imo

@@Msk-wb1yg Whitney called Robyn after Bobby hit her in 2003 and she said she will call her back, which she did but Robyn didn't answer. The number was restricted okay but If she really wanted to reach out to Whitney she could've the same way she was able to contact Whitney's people to confirm her death and when she was writing the book. She deleted the voice mail and didn't make an effort to reach out to Whitney even though she could sense Whitney was asking for help. Whitney was leaving a number of messages knowing that her phone calls were not getting picked up each time, That doesn't sound like a person not interested in my opinion. Not saying that she should've played superhero but the narration that she was always available to help Whitney and would have done anything to help her doesn't ring true. How are you going to help somebody if you're not picking up the phone? As for the Arista Job, she didn't ask Whitney to corroborate the information so there is no knowing that Whitney really blocked the job. And as we know L.A isn't known for his credibility and honesty. I am just trying to say that Whitney was a thing of the past for Robyn and there was no friendship until Whitney died and she had no choice but to resurface. I don't know to me it seems like Whitney wasn't the only one at fault here and that Robyn did let her down. When krissy said "thank you to the people who were there for us not just in the good times but in the bad times as well" I don't think that was Pat who convinced her to say that. I think Whitney felt that way.
