Nice one :) Would you care to share your gear and the ATV AD5 setup ? Like the instruments you use etc. I've been trying to find a good setting for my kit, especially the hi-hats which seems to be a hit and miss at times. Thanks!

@@julesdrumsofficial Seems my comment got eaten by the lords of the internet. Anyway, yes, I calibrated the hihat. Using the ad14 setting gave me best triggering, but the fixed range open/close only gave very slight flexibility to open the hats without getting the pingy open sound. Unfortunately no updates for the module have been provided in ages. I've settled on the ad12 which does allow to set open and close separate. The triggering feels slightly worse, but I can keep the slider between closed and the open position which gives plenty of hihat dynamics. Hats spaced about a thumb apart on open and have a slight angle with the adjustment spring. So they will also come in contact which makes most sense to me compared to actual hats. I dont have the pingy open sound which I never use anyway.

Yes, definitely agree, it can be tricky to get right. I try to calibrate it each time I use it with the onboard settings for the top hi-hat. Is this the calibration method you used? (The one were you have to set the open/close position? ) I find that’s pretty good once you find the sweet spot. I also rest my foot on the pedal when I set it to close, so you get a realistic close point. I’ll have a look next time I’m on the kit and update where it is in settings, in the instance you haven’t tried this. Thanks for your insight, also. J
