After Tal moved his rook back from a2 to a6, you gave a line that you said was stronger than Bxb5 -- that is Bh5 -- and then you stated that if Black tries to defend f7 in that position with d5, then White can sac his rook on d5 and after exd5, White has Re1+ and the e6 square is inadequately defended due to the pin on the f7 pawn. I tried to visualize it, but I only got as far as Re6 (from Black), Rxe6+ Bxe6, Qxe6+ Kd8 and then I couldn't see how White had a winning advantage because I figured Bxf7 could simply be met by Rxg7 and the material would be roughly equal, with Black up an exchange and White ahead in pawns. I had to go the free chess engine online to move the pieces and see that the only reason White does prevail in that line is because after Rxg7 White just HAPPENS to be able to give mate on e8!! That's kind of lucky, isn't it? Black's queen just happens to be standing on the escape square. Anyway ... another great game and analysis --- THANK YOU!!!!
@squareonechess6939Ай бұрын

Tal had a losing position in 8 moves. In chess, when your opponent can win by force, you are said to be losing -- when you are checkmated or resign, then you have lost. Tal was, in fact, losing in 8 moves. Technically, I could have even said "lost in 8 moves", since players who have a losing position are commonly referred to as being "lost", but I felt that might be a little misleading. But just out of curiosity, how would you communicate to the viewer that Tal ha a losing position after 8 moves?
