If you think Fischer would have beat Karpov, you are very naive considering Karpov is way more accurate when it comes to ACPS against stronger competition. Carlsen isn't better because he studies with the engine, because that's not how Chess works. He is just simply better at every aspect of the game than anybody and his ACPS against people way better than Fischer is even higher than Fischer's. And if you think Caruana or Hikari today wouldn't crush Fischer, you are kind of dumb.

Using your logic, then legends of the game like Anand, Hikaru himself among others who ranked Fischer among the greatest 3 players of all time (along with Carlsen and Kasparov) are also dumb. As for Carlsen being the best, he will definitely disagree with you, as he repeatedly have stated that Kasparov is the GOAT. As for the 1975 world championship match, fischer was the favorite, yes. Karpov NEVER reached Fischer's peak rating, and Karpov was far from his peak at 1975. Hell, it took 2 decades for ANYONE to reach Fischer's peak rating of 2785.
