The genius of Bobby Fisher makes me wonder how long he could have carried on being the champion he was. Twenty years without his genius was sad and then his reclusiveness again was tragic. I have followed his games from books and on UTube with not and sorrow. Love chess but computers have somehow ruined the old-fashioned method of using ones little grey cells without the help offered by "chips" !

It's very possible he would have lost the title in 1975, anyway. Karpov was way stronger than the old guard Fischer faced in 1970-72, and unlike Spassky, he wasn't lazy, and would have put the soviet preparation machine behind him to good use.
