Hay guys, I am Jamin Mathis the owner of Wrench Motorcycles. I normally enjoy the podcast and listen to it frequently on the long drive from LA to Chuckwalla but not so much this one, Bobby did great and represented the team like a pro should. I am always grateful after seeing Bobby give an interview. However, Cory said something along the lines of Wrench Motorcycles aren't anything or we really don't do anything. I imagine that what Cory said was not intended to be dismissive or hurtful but I do want to correct the record. Wrench motorcycles has made many of the parts in house on the bike that Bobby is riding. This includes many of the carbon fiber bodywork parts, the swingarm, the fuel tank and many many other small parts all over the bike. We are a prototyping shop and we are trying to make a line of parts for sale but racing has become too much of a work load for a 2 person shop to accomplish this goal. Cory also said that he and I know each other. I personally would not say that we know each other, I can not remember us ever exchanging a single word but we certainly know of each other from our common time spent out at Chuckwalla. I'd like to correct that someday and properly introduce myself to Cory and James at a CVMA round in the soon. Please keep up the normally good work and Good luck in Ohio! Oh and if your wondering where the funding comes from for a competitive superbike team....? It comes from the mass production of pornography... The really nasty kind... The kind that makes it hard to look at yourself in the mirror after seeing it and realize the you like it... Nah Just kidding my wife is a badass corporate Lawyer who really enjoys owning a race team and I'm just a Moto-Wrench who is lucky enough to be tolerated by her. Be well Fellas!

Hey Jamin, thanks for all of that insight! You are correct in that all that was meant was that Wrench is not a large motorcycle conglomerate or aftermarket parts company with tons of money being made to spend on going racing. We appreciate you supporting Bobby and motorcycle racing as a whole. Thanks for listening.

I have to say, it’s super refreshing to hear someone oh his caliber to be so straightforward and honest about the sport, the behind the scenes stuff, and what it really takes to make it to that level. What an awesome guest and interview! I really enjoy your fresh take on a podcast from a racers perspective. Well done! 👊🏻👊🏻

As a former AFM racer, and a Nor Cal resident, I will always be a homer for Bobby Fong. FYI, Lodi Cycle Bowl had their 100cc TT event in June, and the King himself was there, Kenny Roberts. So many legends came out of that hole in the ground and Bobby is another talent it produced. Thank you for having Bobby on the pod. Loved it!

I will argue with anyone that I have always been Bobby’s biggest fan. But this interview just totally solidified that and upped my fan girl status a million times. He’s not only the best on track, he’s the best in life overall. Much respect and mad props to the man who deserves it all. Thank you guys for this!!! #FongforLife #50 🧡🧡🧡

First time listening to the podcast! I’ve only been a fan of bike racing for about 5ish years, but Bobby has been my favorite since day 1! Loved getting to learn more about him and his upbringing into the race world.

Gotta say, he is the first guest that asked about the hosts in a genuine caring way and entered into the interview not focusing on himself. That says a TON about what kind of guy he is.

Bobby hit the nail on the head about the younger racers hanging out in Jr Cup and/or Twins Cup instead of getting on a supersport bike. I remember Gerloff and Lewis going at it in the WERA National Challenge series on their 600s, both 15 years old. When they turned 16, they jumped up to AMA supersport. However, you can't compare racing supersport in 2024 to supersport racing 15 years ago. How many paid or free supersport rides are there in 2024? My guess is three maybe four each. Everyone else has to pay. The 120-150k for a supersport ride is out of reach for many so Jr Cup and Twins keeps them in the paddock. Also, Bobby mentioned DiMario. He's only 15 and unable to race supersport. He will be there in 2025.. Reply

Didn't Bobby have a ride on the Factory Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike? Also when he first started in Roadracing he was riding for BARF racing in AFM.
@pipedreams_pod3 ай бұрын
He only rode for M4 suzuki. Never for Yoshimura.

I'd like to advocate for the twin's cup class. we need to encourage engineering in our sport and twins cup is the only class that is giving a path for teams to develop the bikes. Id encourage people to think of twins cup a training ground for superbike teams because of the ability to modify the bikes.

Good podcast but can you let your guests finish talking before cutting them off? Just a suggestion.
