Ive had my 137 year old fiddle for almost 50 years, I never learned to play it, but I do want to learn maidens prayer before I pass.

A number of years ago prior to a show at the Flynn Theater in Burlington, VT which my band, The Starline Rhythm Boys, opened for Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, I stood on the empty stage after sound check with just Bobby and that beautiful 5-string fiddle with the carved head and asked if he'd play this number of me. What a thrill - I had goose bumps - it was just beautiful with nothing but Bobby and that fiddle. He's absolutely one of the very best and can cut bluegrass (esp. the twin fiddle harmony part) as well as western swing.

The melody of this song was composed by a Polish lady (then 17) Tekla Bądarzewska-Baranowska, in 1856.

His 5-string fiddle sounds great; course it's got a great driver...

Prefer the original over anything being changed. IMO.

Bobby is great but some of this sounded sour if you ask me. I've heard way better versions of Maiden's Prayer than this
