Loved the commercial with Bobby Knight and Digger Phelps where Phelps goes into a rage and throws a chair. Bobby calmly says, “that’s not how you throw a chair”.

I grew up in Indiana, and I can assure you, Letterman and Bobby are TABERNACLE there...Thought he was a miserable old man when I was a kid, but now that I'm a miserable old man I appreciate the Coach. Sad loss :( (This is the edit: unless the camera is tricking me, or someone is standing on a platform, Bobby looks HUGE next to Dave. Far as I know Dave himself is a pretty tall guy but damn, Bobby seems to be nearly a head taller...anyone else?)

Drove through Indiana many times on the way to see my girlfriend in Chicago. It's so flat, so barren of any kind of geographic variation, reminded me of a basketball court. So many great basketball players came from there.

They should've had Coach toss a chair as he entered the stage. Just imagine, instead of seeing Coach Knight walk out like anu other guest, the first thing you see is a folding chair flying across the hardwood. Truly a missed opportunity to score big ratings.

I went to basketball workshop to hear Bobby speak in 1974. When he saw that there were women in the audience he told an extremely off color joke. One woman left. He told increasingly offensive jokes without any mention of basketball until all the women had left the room. He commented that since the audience was now ready, he could start his talk. The Washington Post covered his talk and never mentioned his disgusting behavior. He was a bully who got away with awful behavior because he won a lot of games. Men who played for him who were willing to tell the truth said they played with terror.

The man has passed so you can let go of whatever feelings your harboring about him after all these years. I wouldn’t talk about respect if I was the kind of person to purposely view a video of someone I disliked just to make a negative comment after they died. But you do you
