When I watch this now, and see Robin smiling right at me - at me ! he's smiling at me, very personally, very directly, and I see his gaze and connect with him and that slow smile creeps over his face and his eyes narrow and crinkle - now I just put my head down and cry a little.

When I was a baby, my father looped this track on to a cassette, front and back, and my parents would play it every night to help me sleep... cut to 30+ years later, I have really bad anxiety that will frequently hit right as I’m trying to fall asleep... but I will put on this song, and it will bring me back down! Also, as a recovering Alcoholic, it’s a pretty great alternate interpretation of the Serenity Prayer. ...I don’t wanna speak in hyperbole, but “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” is one of the most positive, uplifting song in human history, and it continues to get me through!
