Yep. I've been a Boston sports fan for a long time, and with all the GREAT athletes (Orr, Ray Bourque, Cam Neely, Tom Brady, Gronk, David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, Yaz, Bill Russell, Larry Bird, John Havlicek, etc.), I've never seen or heard anyone in the Boston area say a bad word about Orr. As great a hockey player as he was, he's an even greater human being. Class act all the way. From what I've heard, it was much the same with Jean Beliveau and Montreal.

hands down the greatest hockey player ever : Sir Robert Gordon Orr , period
@blackhawkswincup20102 жыл бұрын
I'm a lifelong Blackhawks fan, long enough to remember when they were the Black Hawks. If I choose my all-time team, Orr is my first choice. I still have his instructional book My Game, written with Mark Mulvoy of Sports Illustrated. My favorite memory came during the '72 Finals against the Rangers, and the Bruins were shorthanded. Bobby kept the puck, just dipsy-doodling around the rink, daring the Rangers to forecheck him. Nobody wanted to, because he'd make 'em look like idiots. Had to have been 45 seconds. Best ever.
@barry-x4v Жыл бұрын
yup orr was from another planet he is my idol......im not from boston but love the bruins.......i use to love tony esposito stan mikita ,,,,,,,tony esposito i think was the greatest goalie back than with his left handed stick .catch puck with his right hand glove,i loved his style in the net ........if boston grabbed stan mikita away from chicago the bruinswould have won 3 more cups...the bruins had a bunch of drunks on the team so orr lost out on more cups..hehe....

I read a comment somewhere else, saying that they would take 5 Orr’s over 5 Howe’s Gretzkys or Lemieuxs. I would whole heartedly agree, although I only remember the last few years. He could do everything, yet just the nicest gentleman. Hockey’s had there share of great ambassadors and still do to this day.
@JohnSmith-qd2jd2 жыл бұрын
If you put two bobby orr's against five wayne gretzy's the gretzy's would never touch the puck
@waynethera27122 жыл бұрын
John Smith, well that’s a bit of a reach, but hey Bobby was pretty damn good. Imagine the two of them just missed crossing paths due to Bobby’s injuries. Could’ve even fire for a team Canada squad.

Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky. I can't decide who is #1 so I put them all tied for first place. In about 15 years, I might add Connor McDavid to this list.
@robertpucci95857 ай бұрын
the answer is Bobby Orr and here's why: he had to battle through cross checks and body checks slamming into his knees and shoulders....for example, Gretzky never had to deal with that punishment, the league "protected" him from such an onslaught
@sarkisiangeorge7 ай бұрын
@@robertpucci9585 Gretzky had his body guards but Howe and lemieux did not. Orr was a beautiful skater. I wish he played on the bigger European ice surfaces. He may not have had as many knee injuries. I can live with any of the four in any order. That is why I have them tied for #1.
