BOBBY PANICKER ATTRIBUTES CONG EXPULSION TO JEALOUSY, MISUSE OF FUNDS & SETHI'S HAWALA CONNECTIONS

Bobby Panicker, a senior Congress leader and former working president of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), has been expelled from the party for six years. Panicker claims his expulsion was orchestrated by former NPCC secretary Rajesh Kumar Sethi, who aimed to replace him in the Dimapur-1 assembly constituency. According to Panicker, Sethi misused party funds and manipulated his expulsion after recording a conversation where Panicker threatened to expose Sethi’s alleged corruption. Panicker believes his expulsion was a retaliatory action related to his recent involvement in a Guwahati committee meeting.

Well, it's very unfortunate to see our once invincible Congress party still struggling to keep the house in order for the past few decades and even more so discouraging to realise that this very disease may at some point consume even the present party leaders not before long. Not taking anyone's side here but the fact that Mr. Panicker has now come out in the public domain and has accused his former party members of indulging in unethical practices, and their disregard for the Congress party ethos and especially, undermining the very hands that built the Congress party in our state of Nagaland, it's clear to us that there's more to it than meets the eye. There might be some grain of truth otherwise why would anyone put themselves in a sticky situation by reaching out to all media houses. Not saying whatever charges or criticisms he has levelled against the present party members could all be true ‘BUT’ the all important point what all of us have been saying about the Nagaland Congress party, which is the infighting and disunity amongst themselves that's been on display for decades, and now with this on-going crisis as I write, only suggests that the party hasn't changed one bit and the current leaders running the show also cannot be trusted.

By Panicker's own admission, Delhi high command had given ₹12 crores in cash for candidates in 2023 elections. Having worked closely with one congress candidate, I recall the party having only 23 candidates and many of the candidates received only ₹20 lacs through bank account transfer only. Question is, to whom was ₹12 crores cash distributed. Seems like Therie and Panicker swindled the money. These two oldies were running congress party as their private business and now feeling bitter to see party winning lok sabha election under new leadership.
