I'm a 46 year old grown man and this made me cry. Cry for Bobby, and cry happy tears for my memories. This is beautiful. I will come back to this video often and make it to Wildwood as soon as I am well. God bless you all.

This is one of my favorite songs by: Bobby Rydell. It was so nice hearing this song on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey yesterday.

Aaaww. RIP. My parents honeymooned in Wildwood, then we went every summer from Western Pennsylvania. Great memories of the 60s and 70s. Marlane Motel. Is it still there? A restaurant on or near the boardwalk where people line up for an hour or two to get in ..? Morning bike rides on the boardwalk, riding in a kid seat behind my dad. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Boardwalk pizza with oil dripping down my arm... And endless nights riding rides and jumping on the trampolines...

Thanks for sharing. The Marlane Motel is still in operation as of 2023.

I'm happy to tell you that every single one of those things are still traditions in Wildwood today.

Moved to the island in 1977. My Mother just passed and we sold her house in March. 44 years of Wildwood Days. It is somehow fitting that Mr Rydell won’t be singing about it anymore.

Update: Sadly, I haven't made it back yet. I'm hoping that within the next couple of years, I can. Though it will be emotional since my dad passed away in 2015, he drove us there and back

I lived in Wildwood during the 90s. Jerry Blavit would host Saturday night dance parties during the summer and Bobby would sometimes make an appearance. He was a true gentleman and terrific performer. We'll miss you, Bobby. RIP

I haven't been to Wildwood in years. I hope they still play Bobby's original version of the song over the boardwalk speakers. Any re-recordng just wouldn't be the same.
