Audi's top of the range A4 is called the S4, BMW's the 335i which is now known as the 340i, and Mercedes has the C43AMG, and Volvo has their T6 variant. But instead of using a 3.0 forced induction engine likewise all of its competitors, Volvo went with a 2.0 twin charged engine instead, making 306hp and 400Nm. But at only RM238,888; it undercuts even the pricing of their based variant in Malaysia. Let's check it out.

Wasn't into volvo much but went to test drive this S60.. Very hard to pay 200+k for 3 series when this car give you supercharge 306hp. Luxury feel of interior, A4.. Frequent outstation and trunk road, this S60 306hp makes overtaking an easy and save job

Hey Bobby, great video as always! Very honest and informative. I just would like to ask though, How would you compare this to the 3 series? Like 330e for example. In terms of driving dynamics, comfort and overall worthness. Which would you personally go for?

There's no comparison when it comes to driving dynamics, the 330e balanced comfort and handling better as it has a more superior platform. I keep stressing in the video that if you're someone who drives normally, i.e. you never want to hear tyre screeches, you have family members in the car and will never stomp the brakes or full pedal to metal throttling, the Volvo is more than enough for that. HOWEVER, should you drive the 330e the way it was designed and build and sold and bought for (as in eco driving) then the Volvo matches up every bit on how the 330e was supposed to be used. It's just that the 330e has the kind of capabilities that juxtaposes with its very creation at the first place. :) On the highway, where most of the time is where every person sword fights with their dicks, where the length is determined by the badge behind (340i > 330i > 320i > 318i) .... the T6 is one of those that fire its lights to any many C200s, C250s, 320i, 328i etc.

I've read the review even before this video was made. Love the V90, hope Volvo Cars Malaysia will be smart enough to offer the R-Design here, I actually think that the R-Design will appeal to a bigger market than the Inscription.

I was initially looking to pick up a used V40 T5 but due to unavailability of a mint condition unit at a good price, I stumbled upon this S60 T6 year 2017 which surprisingly has a lower resale value than the V40 T5. Upon further investigation, there were comments from existing S60 2013/2014 users that the car developed many problems which include water leak, door sensors going haywire, water pump leak and radiator leak. The mileage of the vehicle was 65,000km only. Any thoughts if the newer S60 T6 2017 model will be less problematic? Or it's a safer bet to go with V40 T5 5-cylinder 2013 or 4-cylinder 2017 which may be more reliable than the S60 T6 2017? Any thoughts appreciated.

You'd be surprise with Mercedes, most of their road cars if you don't engage race mode for launch control, their transmission response on kick down is slow. I suspect they intentionally did it to protect the transmission. Smart move.

on the W205 C class, sometimes when you press the throttle to overtake, it creates a "lurching effect", which is very very undesirable.By the way, when you drove the C250 coupe, which I believe uses the same tranny and engine as the C250 sedan, when the tranny upshifts automatically to 2nd gear from 1st, do you feel a "jerking" effect, so to speak?It does on the sedan and its very very annoying, already brought the car to hap seng and they did a software reboot and the problem still persists.The car has done 11,000 km already, so its run in plentiful.Last Mercedes i'll ever buy.

Yes, I hate their transmission. Slow and illogical. If you check the C250 coupe video, i was driving smoothly and slowly in 3rd gear suddenly the car decided to drop to 2nd, lurch for a while and then back to 3rd. LOL.

really a shit transmission.Mercedes should be like BMW, BMW realised that they can't make transmissions and started sourcing from ZF.Brilliant move.After driving a 330i, i really really really regret buying the C250, despite the 330i being quite lack lustre in terms of options, the driving experience is truly second to none.

oh the 3-series is a lovely car still. it might have a little bit of here and there that certain competitors can be better than it, but overall, it still trumps the rest for everyday usage etc. it's a great great car.

He’s very wrong on the engine aspect !! Obviously doesn’t know anything about engines , the 6 straight cylinder engine from Volvo is a superb engine and way better then the 4 cylinder engine.the 6 cylinder straight is very strong and reliable engine that can handle lots of power on stock internals, the 4 cylinder chokes towards the upper RPMs and doesn’t have the same Torque as the 6 cylinder. The five cylinder and six cylinder engine from Volvo are both a masterpiece.

Sadly, as nice as such a car like this, if you decide to get one, be prepared to 'Volvo For Life' only because there is little or no residual value, or are willing to write it off completely. On the other hand, one must understand that a car is liability to be enjoyed in one's short life.

Traditionally, they're known to be super reliable. But the Ford era didn't do well for them as they have to use Ford components. Now that they're independent and having just developed and utilise the Drive-e engines, I was actually quite surprise that I haven't heard any problems with the Drive-e engines. As for the transmission, it's Aisin, Toyota transmission - thus an indestructable transmission ... lol

well that's the default choice as it's just so compelling. the 5 year warranty, free service, bmw's network, and that car is a lot more comfortable than this in terms of how accomplished its ride quality is.
