Why Puspakom peel off our tints during an inspection? What's the point?

Not necessarily. My dad's car, we used to send for annual inspection for Grab purpose. We never got the tinting part failed.

Failed a Puspakom because of tint. Thought the windscreen tint was ok. So needed to the second time inspection after removed the tint. They didn’t remove it for me on the spot; but failed the inspection and expected for me to remove it and come to inspect again 😅

Sold my car back in March 2023, did the puspakom check myself. As long as your tint and window glass complies with the VLT regulations, don't have to remove it. Didn't remove my tint, and passed with flying colours.

YEP..If your car tints are according to JPJ compliance then you’re good to go

My front windscreen failed, driver left right passed. The guy said it could be the original windscreen darker, u applied 70% tinted and u must factor the windscreen also. I hope somebody will do a content collab with puspakom about this tinted. There is no definite answer till now, JPJ said follow spec, puspakom said must tear, runner said conlanfirm must tear, some grab driver manage to pass. Puspakom said to find the answer is to go for voluntary test. cost money.

My client's BMW F30, went puspakom for inspection, interchange number. tinted very light dint open, underneath engine plastic cover not needed open for engine number verification as the staff manage found the engine number, puspakom LULUS. After interchange done, went 2nd again for ownership transfer inspection this time gagal not because of tint. tint removed on the spot no issue. Inspection failed due to unable to see engine number. What a joke. Had to get mechanic open underneath cover and, went 3rd time then only lulus.

In my opinion, tint should be given exemption for puspakom/JPJ inspection. Each set of average quality tint cost RM1000 or more for better TSER tint. It is wasteful. For example there are at least 100,000 grab cars which need to fo annual inspection. Someone influencial should highlight to MOT YB Anthony Loke.

Sure. I just bought a secondhand car (registered) I bid a new number and replace it to that secondhand car. Done.

will need to transfer the existing plate to a bike or car, usually bike for a fee. bike shop does offer this service@@scvguan
