Huge help, thanks! After watching the video, I discovered that not all Bobcat lift spools will have on o-ring to remove after you get the plug out. My 853 from 1993 did not come with a o-ring in front of the plastic plug, and at first I thought I was either blind or there was a screwup at the factory. In looking at the parts manual for my model, the old plug was part number 6592752, and the parts manual picture does not show an o-ring. The final clue was that 6592752 has been superseded by 6596807 and the parts manual says to order o-ring 54K-20002 with the new part number. The plugs look different as well. The old plug did not have a male protrusion to hold the oring, which the new plug does have. Again, the video was a huge help - thanks.

Just resealed our Bobcat 753 Valve’s (Melroe, square lights)…..your posts were incredibly helpful! Getting those ball bearings back in was a NIGHTMARE (thank god I had a bunch of them). The plug trick worked like a charm (mistake I made was torquing down the set screw to much…..pushed the oring into the spool). Thank you again!

Slicker than snot!!!! used a 7/64" ball head exactly as suggested, came right out... O-ring: black electrical tape over the holes but one, 120psi and the O-ring popped right out, done before lunch... a little grease and re-install... very cool... used some old small skinny HF cheapo lockjoint pliers, cut a grove with grinder in the tip, grease to hold ball in place and went in 2nd attempt.... I didn't even loose my balls.... here is the bad news, on my 753G 01 no way to get the spools out with out loosening the entire valve body and tipping it forward to about 30 degrees so there was enough clearance to get the extra long spool valves on my unit. the longest spool was 14" long OD..... I had to remove the fuel hose fill top and fold the fuel fill hose down underneath the hydraulic valve body..... thank you so much for these vid's.....

@@tetradgroup would I be able to shim it or is there another way to increase the pressure
@tetradgroup2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickherbst960 you would shim charge relief in hydrostatic pump for charge pressure, main relief in control valve is adjustable, loosen jam nut and use allen head to adjust, in to increase, out to decrease. Really should not have to adjust relief unless a new pump has been installed or a rebuild has been done. Have you checked the pressure yet?

Thank you so much fir your video!! I have learned a lot watching everything you do. Just curious though how much different it is on my bobcat 773 g hand controls only… I was told there is no detent balls and spring. My spools are leaking. I’m just not sure how much different the process is on one with hand controls only ?
@tetradgroup2 жыл бұрын
If you're hand only in the control valve is run by actuators you will not have the spring and balls. The actuator will hold the spool on the float position. Your spool will still be cross drilled like this one but other than that fairly easy job
@justinwolfe70612 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! Is it basically the same way to disassemble as the video of you disassembling the bobcat 773 spools with the foot controls ls? Just easier since there’s no detent balls and spring that you have to worry about falling off when removing the spools.

Or is there separate bolts that have to be removed to remove the actuators before removing the spools

Hey man i know his is a long shot But I'm having trouble with a Bobcat T-650. the machine runs and drives But as soon as you go to pick up a load we cant get to lift nor tilt the load. We replaced the Hydro pump and I've checked every solenoid to make sure I'm getting the correct resistance on it. I've replaced the main relief valve thinking it was stuck open but replaced and the problem still hasn't gone away Just looking for some insight on the problem. Could a leaking spool valve seal cause this ?

I've just resealed my 773 Spools as one was leaking, using your videos as a guide. They were a great help. I bought the seals from Bobcat but they are the black ones, not green like the ones you are using. They said that they only supply the black ones now so thats what I installed. Leak has all stopped now, but I'm finding that both the tilt and lift controls don't alway find there neutral position properly, and if I'm not careful to position them back with my foot, can keep creeping. The detent is working fine once I move the pedal to neutral. Its like the seals are binding too muck onto the actual spool valve. What do you think? I've now ordered green seals from the states but have yet to fit them.
@tetradgroup2 жыл бұрын
Not sure but let me know how it does after replacing the seals.
@andrewphillips97982 жыл бұрын
@@tetradgroup so I've changed the seals to the green ones and the spools now return to neutral every time. I'll be contacting my local Bobcat dealer and telling them about this and see what they say. The green ones felt a little softer but nothing really to talk about.

If the plastic seal can fail... why is it removable at all?? A solid plug (either a BB or a brazed seal) could easily replace that seal and would have zero chance of failing.

So I have some creep when I let go of my controls (it still keeps rolling slowly). Is that indicative of some bad control valves? Also I am curious about axillary controls, can you add more, and what can you add within flow limitations. I have a trigger and a thumb switch on a 863c, and two plug ins. I'd like to run a tilt and angle grader attachment and a cut and split firewood processor.
