Bobcat E20 Installing Drain Lines

In today's video we are installing a 6 inch drain pipe for a customer with my Bobcat E20. I am very happy with the capability this little machine has.

I'm looking to dig a french drain and outdoor sump pit. As I am in CT the sump pit needs to be about 5' deep and my yard is full of football size rocks so digging it by hand is an issue. Two questions really.......one, can this excavator dig my sump pit hole and if so, how wide will it need to be for the bucket to get down 5' and still be able to remove material. Two.....how close to my footing can I get if I run this excavator parallel to the footing rather than perpendicular. I want to just run along the footing digging the trench for the pipe that drains to the pit but the width of the machine seems like it will force me to dig a couple of feet away from the footing. Is it possible to get closer and still dig the trench the way I want to ?

I'm surprised more people don't use larger buckets on these machines. I have a 1 ton Kubota mini excavator and run a 24" digging bucket on that little guy and it works great lol

these little machines are surprisingly powerful. I currently have a 36” smooth bucket that I use all the time!

Nice little machine you have . I find when digging in soft soily ground like that, it’s easier to just use a smooth edge cleanup bucket . In that type of ground it digs just as easy, and it’s easier to dig a consistent grade and leave a cleaner trench with a smooth bucket . Also much easier for clean up and back filling ..Just my 2 cents . I enjoy your vids 👍
