Hey man, your videos about T190 maintenance have been super helpful to me. Thanks for taking the time to make these. I know they’re older now but I appreciate your effort.

Hey Jim, I think the trick is to squeeze it in from the bottom, which is why the bottle is pointed. When oil comes out the top, place the cap in the top to create an air lock, then quickly install the bottom plug.
@JimHowDigsDirt3 жыл бұрын
What a great idea! Never ever thought to do it that way. I know you can't squeeze into the top because there's nowhere for the air to come out. Putting the oil in was the most tedious part of the job so this will be a real time saver. Thank for the tip!

@@JimHowDigsDirt I thought of that when I watched you squeeze it in the top and I thought, hey, I fill my lower end unit on my outboard by squeezing it up through the bottom port until it overflows out the top. One good turn deserves another. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Jim. Love and appreciate your videos.

The service manual for the T-190 says to refill with 1-1/2 ounces (45ml) of fluid. It should be 2/3 to 3/4 full.

It only takes about 2 ounces or 60 mls. I use Bobcat oil in mine but have seen other people use other Brands.

Been wanting to get this done on my machine. Haven’t don’t it because you need to remove the tracks. Wish they made it easier to access with the track on. How many hours are on your t190? Just so I have an idea on how long a drive motor typically lasts.
@JimHowDigsDirt6 жыл бұрын
I think I had 2100-2200 hours on it when the bearing failed. Probably 2500 on it now and the other never had any issues with the other one yet.
@ChrisWeism6 жыл бұрын
Good to know, I have 2500 on mine currently with no known history of this being done. I may go ahead and do this just in case as its better to spend a little now than a lot later. Also, are you filling fluid to the very top of the fill hole? Im not sure if I understood the amount of fluid you put into the motor? Also what is your thought of disassembling the motor and replacing the bearing and seals before failure occurs? Worth the money, yes, no?
@JimHowDigsDirt6 жыл бұрын
I think as long as you change the oil every 250-500 hours you should fine. It was close to $500 (CDN) just for the parts from Bobcat to do the my outer housing. If the drive starts making a noise I would stop using it immediately and check it out before it starts tearing things apart. My problem was it was making noises but I kept using it until it failed. Lesson learned! The service manual says "Fill the motor with 1.5 oz (45 ml) of high performance synthetic oil, Bobcat p/n 6682546. The motor will be approximately 1/2 to 2/3 full." You can also check out the link below to see the full T190 service manual. I just found this. On page 30-20-1 you can get full instructions right from Bobcat on this procedure. Hope this helps! www.usedloaderparts.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/pdf-bobcat-t190-service-repair-manual-sn-527011001-and-above-527911001-and-above-527711001-and-above-527811001-and-above.pdf

JimHowDigsDirt helped a lot thank you! I talked to a friend at my local bobcat dealer and he told me to use redline 80w140 oil because it’s cheaper and basically the same thing. Thanks for helping me save $$$!

I was doing some work today and started I hear a sounds that sounded like sand was grinding every once in awhile from my left side? Is that the noise yours was making? I may have just jinxed myself.

I have a t180 and my left side does not turn much and i pops . Is that the Planetary gear, Left MOTOR??
@JimHowDigsDirt5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it may be the outer bearing as mine would lock up sometimes when it first started getting bad. I could back up a little and then go forward again but it chewed it up pretty badly. It's a lot of work to change the oil so it often get neglected. My Bobcat manual doesn't even mention this bearing maintenance section.

Have you changed your inline hydraulic filters yet? PN 6661022. Also, would love a video how to change hydraulic oil. Or a link to one that you used. I can’t find much on these track machines
