I would highly recommend “Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen Proberaumsession” (Proberaumsession = rehearsal room session). The song from AMK is a bit older but they did record it again with a whole orchestra. Really awesome and worth to watch!

@@bobcieslinski I second this suggestion - the "Proberaum" version of the song features string and brass combos, and its drive will have you jumping out of your chair 😀 Also, it contains more trumpet work by Ferdinand Schwarz, who you already admired in the "Valerie" cover (and who is considered one of Germany's finest young jazz trumpet players, btw). Thanks for your reaction, would love to see more AMK stuff (there's a lot of treasures still waiting to be found...!) Greetings from Munich, Germany

+1, just wanted to suggest this one, for me one of the very best performances I've listened to by AMK... it's not a whole orchestra though, but the band plus a string and a brass section, but it sounds great, musically one of the best things they've ever done imo, and Henning's voce on top is just awesome!

There's an other video of this song, with just Henning singing to the camera and he's on a rooftop or a bridge or something... And toward the end of the song as he's belting out a powerful "Ich will ein' Ozean!" someone from below yells "me too!" and he had to laugh. 😁 Hats off to you for linking directly to where to buy their music, that's awesome :) My vote goes to "Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen" for the next AMK reaction. It's older now but fun.

Henning has a very strong control of his body. I'm not a professional singer, but I learn that strong sounds do not come from pressure, but from making your whole body part of the instrument. That's how I was singing while showering :D

AMK did and still do refuse to sign a contract with a major company in order not to become split up as a band and friends by the commercial interests of the record company. No style make over, no splitting up the band in favour of 'the raspy voice'. Btw: what I really would like to see (and hear) happen was a duett between Henning May and this guy who won AGT... Sawyer Fredericks - two unique voices together - and two humble guys, too.

Yes, Henning has a naturell raspy voice. In a interview, he said, it's part of his family, his dad has a raspy voice and his brother too. But he trained it maybe a little bit more 😉 by singing on streets for so many years. There you just have to sing as loud as possible to get the attention from the audience. Here is a video of them at this time, if you wanna try. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHuTgJ-kpNGtgdE Greetings from Berlin 😎
