A talk by Jordan Peterson brought me back here after 25 years! Speak the truth, speak it ever! I was a Marley cult fan through the 1980s decade...then gangsta rap took over in the 90s and later in the 90s I left the "world" for holy peace and God. I raised a family without ever exposing them to reggae or Marley, Tosh, etc. But they were prophets and this piece is an example of profound insight into humanity and this world! This song is timeless.

Oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, yeah! Well, it's not easy, It's not easy Speak the truth, come on, speak. Eh, now! It ever cause it what it will: He who hide the wrong he did Surely did the wrong thing still. Get in the studio of - Studio of time and experience Here we experience the good and bad; What we have, and what we had - This session (session), Not just another version (version). Oh Lord, give me a session (session), Not another version (version)! They're so much stumbling blocks right in-a our way: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; There's so much wanting, so much gaining, so much have done. Too much little mix-up, in the mix-up, yes! Too much little mix up! Too much of this mix up - mix up! I was born in the country, right on top of the hill I still remain, I know I still, I will-a, But through your f...in' respect and through your false pride Someone wanna take Jah - Jah - Jah children for a ride! Shut up! Open the gate, and let the saints through. Please make it a session (session); Not another version (version); Ooh, please make it a session (session); Not another version (version)! Hey, you been talkin' all your mouth full of lies, Sitting there toppling and, Lord, they criticize. So through the eyes of the fool the deaf is wise, And through the eyes of the wise the fool is size. Saying is too much mix up - mix up! Saying is too much mix up - mix up! I wanna clear the wheel once and for all; I wanna clear my wheels, I don't care who fall! I gotta clear my wheels once and for all; Clear my wheels, I don't care who fall - fall: (Too much mix-up - mix-up!) Hey! Mr. Music, why don't you wanna play? Don't you know today is a bright holiday? Yeah! (holiday) Some people waiting for the message that you bring, They listening to every word that you'll sing. Singing: (too much mix-up - mix-up - (Too much little mix up!) Would you groove along now (Too much mix up - mix up), yeah! Yes, would you groove along now (Too much little mix-up!) They just can't stop you know (Too much mix-up - mix-up)!..

Bought the album as soon as it hit the shops in Liverpool city centre. 17 years old then. Loved it so much then and this song jumped out at me straightaway. Also love the song "I Know". Still have the fairly crackly album and play it with love and thanks to Bob as he got me through some hard times, when I was very young but trying to cope as you do at that age. 🌻❤✌

Best Song by Mr. Music ever! For real. The 80's synthesizer Reggae sound was, is and will always be crazy underrated. Steel Pulse, Peter Tosh, Blackheart man and the Confrontation album... it's really a shame that Cocaine had to ruin the Synthesizer for everyone during the 80's.

Love the 80s reggae as well. The Moogs were the main synths giving the thick strings, synth flute and synth horns. It added a different flair to the other natural instruments in the mix. I love the opening synths lines on Kaya. The Hammond organs were also used. I saw a rare yamaha CS80 being used on stage at in the live video of the bands performance of I shot the sheriff. I couldnt believe it. They really used the best equipment in those days.

It's a pity how I memorized this song, sang along and danced to it without getting the real import of the message until now. Indeed, Bob Marley had all his messages encrypted but alas most of us (the oppressed); black, white, coloured...couldn't decode. I guess he grew tired of preaching messages like SURVIVAL, which was more inclined towards counseling us to appreciate the intricacies of the "new world order", and allowed it to live so we lived. He thus burst on to the scene with the more aggressive message, CONFRONTATION, which to me was his last warning and last official album released before his demise. CONFRONTATION seemingly captured and expressed Bob Marley's frustrations at our dumbness and lack of understanding of the messages he had been sending all the years. Yes, he admonished us to fight while he lived, because soon he knew he wouldn't be there to warn us about the Babylon System et al. " I wanna clear my wheels, once and for all.... I don't care who falls...", he sang. Well, sometime I wonder if Bob Marley's closed relations including the Wailers and his family, were on the same wave length with him. I guess they were just doing their job and possibly could not tap into the psyche of the prophet, and the natural mystic that blew around him. They couldn't listen carefully like all of us. I may be wrong though. However, his Legend lives. Long Live Bob Marley.
