I get what you mean, Perrine. I find it very ironic, though, as it shows more just how little people were paying attention all these years given that videogame development is an industry over fifty years old at this point! Even more notable is that most people in the industry back in the 1970s were educated adults with some years in computer science work already, so not the youngest people to start with. Thus, we actually have quite a few men and women today well over seventy years of age who can claim legitimate careers in game development. Strictly speaking, it has been a long while since people could start claiming their Grandpa or Grandma was a game developer. However, as you rightly point out, it is only now that it is becoming something that we take for granted should be the case! Time does fly when you are having fun!

Developer here. Thank you so much for playing our collection and Bobo's Quest! Regarding the game's story at the end of the video; You were close, but there's a bit more to it. You've missed some interactables & secrets here and there in the town which gave some extra dialog and hints, but nothing to fuss about. The players can find those secrets themselves. ;) And yes, all of this is self aware. The game was made as a sort of 'tribute' to analog horror and old ARG's, hence the tell-tale esthetic and events. Adding a bit of comedy and weirdness in there spice things up. Once more, it was an absolute joy to watch you play this. Thank you once again for playing the Collection!

_Kinda sad ending_ The mystery surrounding the tape and his grandfather's death and the empty town in the game. Maybe you are right about it being an allegory of old age and losing yourself because there are no friends and nothing familiar. Maybe the tape was the spirit of the grandfather trying to reach thru and explain his death. The real mystery is why a grandfather would write a character that would crap on the street and enjoy his "poopoo smell". I'm hoping that isn't a way describing an elderly person, but I'm really unclear what the game's message was. It was interesting, but the weird humor at the beginning didn't fit with ending.

Maybe that's just the grandpa's humor, maybe the kind of humor that the people that used to be around him was not into anymore. Or who knows, some people when they grow old start doing whatever they want since they know they'll die soon anyways. So maybe he would genuinely do that sort of thing on the street.

Hey Manly, i think Fear and Hunger 2: Termina might be up your alley! It's a super cool RPGMaker horror game that just came out in December, and it might be of interest to you! It takes place in a small war-torn village in alt-universe eastern Europe, where the moon god Rher is holding a terrible festival. It's got gorgeous art, a wide cast of really interesting characters, and multiple endings to chase! And it's an actual RPG with really complex, interesting combat. It's a great game :)

That's how I feel about it. Plus the game having to explain to the player what they're supposed to feel and give them the message that the grandfather offed himself, made it seem like they couldn't covnvey the idea without using the players thoughts on screen. There was bad choices made by the dev, a good story teller would be able to deliver the point by showing the player, and not telling them. Context clues can be given, even in a short game. I wonder if it was intentional, because of how video game creepypastas had gotten so subpar.
