Just splendid. With this video and the Hornby mag cover feature it's great to see Lewis getting the high-profile credit his model-making deserves. Well done Richard, roll on the next visit to New Junction and saxo-tune montage.

Mr. Mouldy: So nice to see you out in the open. Richard really nailed when he pointed out your layout proves "less is more". It is truly relaxing watching your layout run. Thanks for your channel. Richard, thanks for bringing this creator out of the shadows to take a bow, if only for once. Can't wait to see the upcoming mag article!

Hi Richard thanks for taking the time to visit the fantastic layout created by Lewis. It was great to see and hear Lewis talking about his layout. As a countryside layout it is without a doubt the best I have seen in what Lewis has done creating the countryside scenery. Lewis is also to be congratulated for the way he videos his layout because it is extremely rare to see any of the many roof supports in his loft. I hope you continue to visit other layouts when the time permits. Thanks to you both for this very interesting video. Cheers Greg

Great interview Richard. I think the great attraction to the YDR is “atmosphere” and if those of us watching have ever been to the Dales and spent time there, whether walking or camping, for example, then the atmosphere is just spot on. The background/over dubbed sound that Lewis achieves is so realistic I have often had to shake my head and tell myself it’s not real! Great presentation and congratulations to Lewis for making the publication worthy. Best wishes, Bob

Thanks for the grand tour of your very wonderful layout and finally see the face behind the masterpiece! You have made a good choice to model less rather than more I always feel that modellers who try to cram track in every corner is overkill. Keep up the great work Lewis and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers!!

With a lot of these channels that you never hear or see the creator you get an image in your head. Never in a year of Sundays coinciding with Blue Moons would I have got that right. I also love the M R style of videos too. We all hopefully settle in to our own styles with some fairly similar but his definitely stands out. Awesome layout and with that amount of room in his loft it certainly makes me think about using my loft eventually. Another great video 👍🏻

Love the video, glad to see who's behind the Moldy Raspberry! I noticed your video style is full frame clarity, as opposed to moldy raspberries bird edge clear center. I like both ways and I think he needs to use more full frame clarity in his video because it gives a better view of parts of the layout, not just the train as it passes by...

Same... He seems to capture the feel of the dales so well that I thought he was an old hand too. Still, if channels like new junction, mouldy raspberry and everard junction show one thing, its that there are a good many creative younger guys into the hobby. Always worried that this hobby might die out in the UK but is great to see these guys carrying it forward into the days of digital trains and internet videos.

A very imaginative layout which although fictitious is reminiscent of the Yorkshire Dales. I have been watching 'Mouldy Raspberry' since it first started out with that Trakmat layout. As mentioned in the description, the February 2020 issue of Hornby magazine features this layout and the printed pictures in the article show the amount of work which has gone into this layout. The definition on KZbin does not do it justice, so I would get this issue if you would like a souvenir of this lovely layout. Thanks to New Junction for uploading.

That was decades back before MR was born probably. The thing is the BR of my day was alright if you liked blue and gray and decay. :)

Imagine this in N scale, that's pretty much what I'm aiming for. Yorkshire Dales has been such an inspiration behind that idea. Cracking layout and converting it to a continuous run must provide the perfect environment to just sit back and watch the trains go by. AnyRail6 is, in my mind, the best free software you can get. The trial is limited to just 50 pieces, but the flex track can be stretched to any length, so on a layout like this, just one piece of flex would probably cover 8 feet or so.
