i guess the 2/1 nijika that blind stock 2 is ok if you play nijika top ends since it's kinda expansive

It really is a shame that the only playable Lv3 CXC that doesn't have major deckbuilding restrictions stapled to it is the Ryo. I've seen the 3/2 Niji standby psuedo combo a few times, but that's considerably less flexible than the Ryo. Another set with one viable competitive deck. In general, this whole set was incredibly underwhelming.

I mean having any competitively viable deck is nice for a set, considering that doesn’t always happen. Also like Ryo is the flexible one yeah but the Bocchi door is good, there is also the fact they printed an EP heal Moca combo on an uncommon for 3 CX builds, like I think you are underselling Bocchi as a set by a lot, like after they nuked a lot of the OP garbage in Japan the set put up results, they just need to actually fix the EN meta and Bocchi will probably do pretty well especially since it doesn’t have to worry about Alice Gear in EN.

@@fieryvc8317 I am aware of how strong (or not) the set is. I've had a playset of the cards since JP came out last fall and have been testing it regularly since then. Yes, the zero-cost 3/2 Ryo heal is great, but it doesn't actually win the game; not losing is not the same as winning. 3/2 Bocchi door combo would be considerably better if its activation costs weren't so strict and high and it wasn't on a door, one of the worst triggers in the game. Ryo CXC is better because your get to play the game spending a lot fewer resources getting the cards you need to win, freeing up space to use your resources on early turns for better plays instead of sinking stock and card advantage into making sure you have three of the correct cards in memory, six stock, and 10 cards in hand (CX, 3 bocchi, 6 cards to discard). Similarly, Gura is better than Bocchi is literally every respect, as is hololive as a set. Or Chainsaw Man. Or Seven Deadly Sins. Or Revue Starlight. Or Sword Art Online. Or Quints. Or Date a Live. Or Lycoris Recoil. Or Overlord. Etc., etc.. If you care about being competitive, like I do, Bocchi is not the set to play. I thoroughly enjoyed Bocchi as a piece of media, but the words on the card are what's actually important. What matters is card strength, and Bocchi lacks it. Banning is usually a terrible idea that's done for the wrong reasons. For instance, 2/1 Alice was not and is not a problem; 2/1 Alice coming down at lv1 was the issue. But Bushi didn't ban the 1/0 Alice. Shizu and Mjurran in the same deck are not a problem. Nino with neg soul counter isn't a problem. Gilthunder and escanor are not a problem. Most things on the EN ban list shouldn't be there in the first place or could've been fixed with errata (like Batman Ninja). The only thing that should actually be on the banlist are Ayame and Sokka as they genuinely break the game as the rules define them. The EN meta is extremely healthy once the Sokka problem is fixed; that is genuinely the only broken thing in the game right now.
