This can also serve to remind those who get the opportunity to be in America, use every day wisely. Always be mindful that the space you occupy, someone else would love to have it but doesn't. People say America is no bed of roses. No-where is any bed of roses. Everywhere has its own unique challenges. But i hold firmly that if you develop the right attitude, focus the right way, don't follow ppl, walk the straight n narrow, you can make it in America and live good. Hear this, the landing gear bay on the aircraft is not pressurized and not heated. The temperature above 30000 feet is lower than (minus) -35 °C and the air pressure is below 2 PSI. and oxygen is only 2%. Example at sea level the oxygen in the atmosphere is around 19%. and atmospheric pressure is 14 PSI. In short, it is unlikely for someone to survive those atmospheric conditions at 38000 feet. If they really came from Jamaica they were dead or unconscious by the time the aircraft was over Cuba. I am a former Boeing employee. Lastly in the gear bay there is only room for the wheels, there is not much room for anything else.

@azchanna17 күн бұрын
Blocked out ? Or blacked out ?
@celianeher763717 күн бұрын
The thing is the distance from the continent Africa to Europe isn't that far , this also depends on where in Africa to England ones travelling. Planes normally don't take a higher altitude for short distances, you may suffer from insufficient oxygen but survival is possible if you don't freeze to death. People don't realise that you can actually travel by car from Europe to Africa ( of course you will need a ferry to actually get on land ) the same goes for Asia.

I'm going to say it: this is the dumbest thing for the 2 people to have done.. Dunce culture is starting to manifest unfortunately. Their family and friends should be ashamed of them. Absolutely dunce move and they have now drawn this dunce shroud over our people and country internationally.

My fellow Jamaicans, it’s not heaven and earth here in the US. Take my silly advice. I came here and set up myself and it wasn’t easy. Failure after failure after failure, you have to have a strong support system and determination to make it here.

CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!? The speed a plane gets up to while taking off, sitting there, with the ground just below you! That must have been a WILD ride! THEN, the mechanics and machinery of the actual landing gear coming up into the compartment! SHEESH!!!😱

Good journalism👍. As a Jamaican, I’ve pondered over why these two men if they really stowed away from or at Jamaica did this. Despite poverty and violence, Jamaica is not Cuba where its leader was a controlling communist. Many poor people in Jamaica eke out an honest living with hard work. If they were escaping for a better life, then they were delusional. If they saw this as a free adventure, then they eventually paid the price. Too late for them to learn from it. So senseless IF they wanted to “escape” whatever in Jamaica.

A member of staff put them on that plain security is so tight it’s not easy for someone to get on a plane. It has to be a worker who assisted them.

The weather didn't have anything to do with air death. The wheel well Off the plane is not air pressure. They fall asleep from a lock of Oxygen. They died of hypoxia

Also the visa fees are very high, and they get denied for no reason, and they were desperate to get to the US.
@ariamason932417 күн бұрын
People are denied when they have no ties to their country like a stable job or finances. Immigration officers know who have the greatest possibility of running off. A stable individual would not do what these 2 did. They were rejected for their own safely.

The FAA says that over 77% of people who have attempted to hitch an illegal ride on an aircraft have died. Stowaways face harsh conditions, including: Extreme cold: Temperatures can plummet to between -50°C and -60°C. Lack of oxygen: As the aircraft climbs to cruising altitude, stowaways must contend with low oxygen levels. Other health risks: Stowaways face other health risks, including: Being mangled when the undercarriage retracts Tinnitus Deafness Hypoxia Frostbite Acidosis Falling when the doors of the compartment reopen

Well, unfortunately, some of us had to leave to ensure our parents and other relatives are able to eat and pay their bills. People who try to shame those of us who felt the need to leave should refuse every barrel or moneygram/western union remittance we send. My Jamaican nationalism and Jamaican pride could not pay my bills. I struggled so much working as a public servant in Jamaica. Jamaica needs to take better care of its citizens. Those who are not rich live in abject poverty because there's no longer a middle class. I did not sell out, I left for a better life. I've earned 3 additional degrees, own a home, paid off two vehicles, and have accomplished a lot more since leaving Jamaica. May God bless America 🇺🇸 and Jamaica 🇯🇲 .

Kudos to you. A lot of them who are criticizing are the ones who would jump into an Airplane's landing gear well if it was a safe space and leave Jamaica..They're the ones quick fi beg u a ting noh or bring wanting you to bring something for them..dem judging and badminded because dem caan reach Merica!! People leave Jamaica for various personal reasons....social, financial, spiritual, safety etc.etc.
@Tammy-sd3sc16 күн бұрын
@paulogee6220 Thank you...exactly. The same ones who are always asking for things and making demands are the first ones to style us and accuse us of "selling out". We can't even trust them to have access to our bank accounts in Jamaica due to the coveteousness they exude. I feel no shame about leaving. Kudos to those who choose to stay and suffer.
