the first time i tried to wire a light switch i was about 12. i put the negative into one side of the switch and the other into positive. when i switched i blew the fuse. tried a couple of times then rang a friend who said to put the switch on the positive wire, so the switch made positive line active. sounds easy, but not when you're a kid and know nothing.

At 0.25 you can see a few frames of a capacitor exploding. The problem is those wires he used to explode the capacitor came from right to left, meaning it would be hard to edit out flash only. If the wires would come from the other side - it would've been much easier to only show capacitor's flash without exposing wires under his palm Not an editor, but I would say it's a pretty sloppy job. Still it took me completely off-guard, so good job, Mehdi :D

Also 9:56, I had a philosophy prof that specialized in therapy and would bring this stuffed toy owl to every class and if anything ever went wrong, ANYTHING (like a water bottle falling over) he would rush to the owl grab it and put it next to you. He was super consistent and always treated it seriously. On test day the owl was at the front of the room. I didn't feel like it did anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if it helped some students just because of how he linked it to class's well being. He also started every class with a toast of Canada Dry "to today's lesson, may you learn and live happily, cheers". He was one of my favorite professors. He was crazy sometimes.

Once while working as a mechanic i was re-connecting a truck battery, the truck was stranded blocking the road, so I was rushing. it was mid day on a very hot day and i was rushing to try and get the road clear. i grabbed both pos and neg connectors and put them on the terminals simultaneously. I had done this many times before but on this occasion i was soaking wet with sweat. the moment i touched the terminals i found myself on my back in the road as the force of the shock threw me backwards. was like being kicked in the chest by a horse! I've never touched both terminals on a large battery since.

Hearing your experience with the placebo effect reminds me of something that happened years back, I lived for a time near a nuclear power plant and used to take walks through the woods nearby. Well a friend of mine from out of area visited a few times and walked with me, the third time they did that they asked me what that place (The plant) was. Later that night they started complaining of being tired and blamed it on the "radiation" from the power plant, must admit I ended up laughing at them and pointed out that I walk there most days and they had no issues the last two times only one thing changed and that was that now they knew what it was. Could be coincidence that there may have been a real genuine reason they felt more tired than normal but the fact this suddenly showed up after they knew about it I did instinctively figure it was more likely placebo especially considering there is bugger all radiation there and their own home near a coal plant likely had more as they tend to actually have higher levels as there are no filters to capture the trace radioactive elements in the thousands of tons of coal they burn every day lol.

Ben Greenfield actually had the inventors of Biocharger on his podcast explaining to great depth about what each of the functions on it actually do and the related science. Their ads suck ass and make it look like horseshit, but listening to them on the podcast in long-form was actually pretty convincing.
@psychedelicpiper9994 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried the Biocharger on two separate occasions over a year apart in two different states, and it’s definitely the real deal. I would challenge any skeptic to make a KZbin video while actually extensively trying the device themselves. It’s not just a Tesla coil, it incorporates Rife frequencies and Lakhovsky technology, which I’m sure this wannabe KZbin scientist has never even heard of. There are many practitioners offering sessions with the device for free or for a small fee. I intend to purchase the device eventually myself, because I feel it may have played a role in some recovery from a painful ear condition I’ve had. What I do know for sure is that at the end of each session, I felt this incredibly unique blissful high, like I was on a drug of some sort. For the antidepressant effects alone, it’s most definitely worth owning. I’d literally give this KZbinr $1,000 to try the machine and debunk it. But that’s the problem with a lot of skeptics, they don’t often go the extra mile to disprove whatever they are trying to disprove. They are way too sure of themselves, and their audiences also get sucked into their cult of personality, so they believe everything they say. I’m not someone who is prone to the placebo effect. And the Biocharger didn’t actually cure my health issues, especially since I didn’t use it more than twice. But I definitely think there is merit in its claims of improving recovery time. There is a reason people in sports use it.

He's got nearly 1.5 million subscribers... What the hell counts as "recognition" to you if that doesn't???? O____O
@Cooe.4 жыл бұрын
@Zachriel Getting 10 million subscribers is so ridiculously rare (no matter HOW LONG you've been on the platform, and DOUBLY so for an individual's channel vs a group's or business') that holding that up as your minimum standard of "recognition & success" is absolutely freaking absurd.... An individual's channel getting 1.5 million subs (which is already ridiculously freaking rare/hard to do) is a massive amount of success & recognition no matter how you slice it.

When you said "If you strongly believe that something will work for or against your health, then your mind will affect your body functions" regarding placebo effect, is only when it will positively affect ones health through belief alone. It's called Nocebo if it's works against your health through belief alone.

I read an "electrician" on Reddit explaining to everyone that electrons remember the place that they were generated and always try to flow back to the source. And that's how grounding works--even though the ground isn't very conductive, the electrons want to return to the power plant they were generated at and all power plants are grounded so as long as you are grounded to the same ground as the power plant, your extra electrons will return there. He got angry when I called him an obvious troll... So he's either a committed troll or very dumb.

That pet placebo rock sounds like a good idea. EXCEPT, knowing me, after a while I'd lose it, and then I'd spend hours fretting about it and trying desperately to find it again. And even if I did find it, I'd worry that I'd found the wrong rock. My brain is a problem.

7:55 Actualy a big chunk of "chemical energy" is generated by OXPHOS in mitochondria where membrane transporters generate gradient of protons, which drives generation of chemical energy. This gradient is coupled to the movement of electrons between membrane proteins. Both events are types of electrical current, only the former is executed by protons which carry positive charges. Thus in this example electrical energy is generated from chemical and is coverted again to more versatile chemical. In general we definitely use different types of electrical current in our cells. Whether it's protons, electrons or other ions that generate electrochemical gradients in neurons and musle cells. That allows them to send/receive signals and respond to them correctly. In that last example we can even influence those currents by electrical stimulation from the outside (hence shocking cardiac arrest patients). But, yes, I agree. This product is total BS.
