Anyone who likes these guys (most people listening to this, seemingly), go buy and listen to their albums- No spoilers, but if you haven't heard them yet, each song gets a whole other meaning when coupled with the other songs that they've been put with. The sticks, in particular, is very interesting in terms of composition - it's arguably a concept album, and quite an excellent piece, artistically.

@@evanwakelin7944I think it might be because in the chorus with the "oooold soul" bits, that's mostly the girls singing and then Ryan just has a quieter lower harmony? You're right, I think you can hear the girls more in this one, which is fab cause they get a chance to shine. I also think any differences in his pitch throughout is probably just because this is from when he was much younger 😄

The craziest thing is that while this is a catchy song for sure, the whole album is even more AWESOME!!! As a huge new music junkie, I can say with confidence that "O My Heart" may be one of the best North American efforts in four or five years. It will be one of only a handful that I actually go out and buy on CD, which says a lot!!!

3:40 the buildup of this outro gets me every time. The first two notes from the guitar. Then the groovy riff.. the few piano notes.. then the arpeggio.. it finally explodes to a synth solo then the song ends.. damn

I discovered this group a few months ago, on the XM radio station, ' The Verge ' . They play a lot of good music and a lot of Mother Mother. I've purchased 3 of their cds. I never get tired of them. I'm still in awe of how immensely talented they are. If I told you how old I am, you probably wouldn't believe me. Let's just say that I remember sitting on the living room floor, watching The Beatles make their American debut. I can't till they return to SF.

indeed. I find this song more remarkable each time I listen to it. I'm at the age where videos tend to bore me to tears (been there, done that), but this video has some unique elements and fits with the song. The side shots and zooms are quite remarkable. Simple, effective. Fish heads, sure.
