When I was skinny everyone always said to “eat more than that” “finish your plate you need it” but now that they put me on medication that made me gain weight as a side effect, everyone always calls me fat, says to not eat so much, that I need to lose weight, but when I was skinny I was just made fun of just as much? They say don’t be skinny and don’t be fat so what weight should I be? So true! Sometimes I just don’t eat that much and already feel full, my parents would always comment on how I didn’t eat much like... they would be like “you eat this little how are you supposed to grow”? I mean growing isn’t ALL based on eating a lot. Sometimes it’s just full for me like everyone’s stomach are different. Some people need to eat more to become full while some get full early, so maybe some days if I’m tired I’m hungry and some I’m not.

exactly, everyone talks about body shaming of overweight ppl but never/rarely about underweight ppl who are naturally skinny and cant put on weight no matter how much we eat or try - we are totally healthy though.. I grew up being skinny like that.. some ppl even think we dont eat or to be that skinny on purpose as if we chose to have that body and how "ugly" we look. Even my mom used to say she wished I had some boobs to look better in certain clothes. Over or underweight body shaming is the same, it is wrong. Appreciate and encourage each other. Appreciate her pointing it out... :)
@letniy_valenok9 ай бұрын
@@nikitasiaYour: “I can’t get fat” sounds like a mockery. Eat fatty and high-calorie delicacies that will be small in volume but very high in calories. There is a lot of such food. Same Snickers, nuts in general, chocolate. You will gain weight if, instead of cramming an extra vegetable into yourself, you cram in a tasty treat. Just eat what gives you pleasant sensations and emotions, more than satiety. If a person eats something tasty, he is more likely to overeat. If you are not sick with worms or some rare genetic diseases, then it will help you. And this will be a very pleasant way to gain weight. Unlike the path to weight loss, when you are often deprived of the last relaxing remedy - food. That's all I wanted to say. I'm sure you don't really want to "gain weight", you want to "have a nice body". And these are different things. It’s just that your fatter body is unlikely to be included in the standard of beauty, you understand that. And truly, your complaint should not be “I can’t gain weight,” which is equivalent to “I can’t gain fat,” but “I can’t make a body that fits beauty standards.” And this already implies complexity, and not just eating tasty treats. You won't have to eat high-calorie bombs, but a lot of protein and exercise. And now this is difficult. And this suffering is understandable. And “I can’t gain weight” is nothing more than a mockery, because you are not depriving yourself of anything, you are only gaining.

I started to binge eat in an attempt to have people stop commenting on my body, I listened and forced myself to eat more than I could. It was disgusting. Now I'm almost an adult and I still binge eat, but thanks to that I'm edging from average to the larger side. If people didn't say all those things I feel like I could atleast be at a comfortable size rather than eating until I'm sick. I'm emetophobic too so I can't just..yanno. What I didn’t realize was that I was doing it all for the wrong reasons. I can proudly say that I now do things for my enjoyment and love my body. Ive been super skinny and body shamed. Called twig, told to eat more. Told id be prettier if i gained weight. "You look like a stick figure" and now that im mid sized (size8-10 in jeans) i get called fat, cow, told i looked better thin. Told id be prettier if i ate more salad. You cant please everyone and if people learned to keep their mouths shut and their opinions about others bodies to themselves, the world would be so much more beautiful❤

Body shaming comes in all FORMS being shamed for being fat with cellulite and stretch marks from giving birth and I had men criticizing me on the beach for wearing a high waisted bikini. On the other hand, my sister struggles like this woman does and she gets mean comments too. Body “Trends” shouldn’t be a thing, look past to see personality and so many other qualities. ❤ You are GORGEOUS honeybun ❤.

Body shaming can happen in many different ways, comments like these stick with people and it can cause others to develop EDs. ALL body's are absolutely beautiful, don't shame others ❤

There was this one time my friend (ex-friend) bodyshamed me... so I was talking to her and said that I might join the cheer team next year and she went on to tell my best friend behind my back that I was never going to get a chest and that I prob wear bras to bed... like that doesn't do anything. And she also said that there's things you can do to get a bigger chest... no there isnt... it takes time, I'm late and so was my mom... and I don't even wear bras to bed... she made me even more insecure that I actually was. I love watching your videos and were both struggling with similar things, and your videos help bring my confidence back up.

I feel this... I understand that being thin is idolized in a lot of ways and fatness bears a lot of stigma - so it's almost like people who experience fatshaming expect us to take skinnyshaming as a backhanded compliment or sth. But I spent my entire teens worrying about not being feminine enough thanks to all the comments ppl made when I entered puberty and barely had boobs/curves

I have a curvy body and I hate it. I’ve been bullied for six years and still is I told this girl to shut up because she was being selfish and rude because she judged my body but now I’m happy and I’m in a relationship and people think it’s good to have a curvy body and not to have a flat but I think you’re really pretty and I wish I had a flat body like you still.

If it's body shaming to tell you when something doesn't look good on you, the only option left is to not answer or respond to you weather you look good or bad in something. It can't be that people are allowed only to make a positive comment on something. An honest person would prefer putting his or her true opinion
@montanarose-sings6 ай бұрын
Pro-tip: If they didn't ask for your opinion, don't feel entitled to give it. You're a grown person, you don't need to vocalize every single thought that runs through your brain like a five year old. If they ask your opinion and it's negative, that's one thing. Otherwise, it's unsolicited and incredibly rude.

Omg I absolutely love and agree with this content. I literally feel like anything I do someone relates it back to my weight and how I need to do more of this or less of that. I struggle with that exact problem, whenever I where leggings there baggy and when someone comments or jokes about how things fit on me I always just make up an excuse. Even at a young age I struggle with this and get the exact same comments. So thank you for addressing it! 💗

I've been fat shamed a lot and I have no doubt that it's not as worse as being skinny shamed. But I still can't believe I let their words get to me. I started to eat less, to the point where I just starved myself and hoping that will make me skinner. I went as far as almost becoming bulimic but thankfully my mom noticed and stopped me. The words I remember vividly from our conversation, "They can say what they want to say but they will not see you the way I do." This is why I'm thankful to have a mom like her 💜
@thegongoozler51088 ай бұрын
As a girl who is also fat shamed, and I also struggle to lose weight (I've starved myself before too), I just wanted to let you know that we only live once. Love yourself no matter what other people say. True beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. Don't try to change yourself just for others.

@@trixieagustina6163 Not how it works. Your body will only burn calories faster if you eat alot (digestion burns calories), sleep more, or exercise more. Genetic factors make very little difference. You need to suck it up and stop making excuses for yourself, just fucking eat more, its what i did and it worked. And i do multiple hours of exercise a day, so its even harder for me. What's even worse is i take appetite suppressants. You don't have a fucking excuse.

People always assume that “being skinny is so awesome” “I wish I was skinny that’s like the perfect body shape” NO. NO YOU DON’T. Being skinny is NOT the perfect body. I HATE my wrists and arms, it’s one of my biggest insecurities. It doesn’t make it better when people put their fingers around my wrists and say “awwwww your wrists are so tiny” what’s cute about it? Nothing. “You’re so skinny you have it easy no one can shame you it’s perfect” SKINNY PEOPLE GET SHAMED TOO.
