I've heard some people say that the theorem sort of originated in some other show, but that version of it was flawed. The Futurama writers basically perfected it.

0:34 I’ve recently been rewatching Futurama seven years after my initial viewing and I definitely consider this one to be a standout episode from the season. It made me laugh as much as the original run. Especially the scene where Fry and Leela spontaneously make out in Zoidberg and the Professor’s bodies. I love that it cuts to Hermes (Amy) dropping the fork in disgust.

I’ve recently learned that the not-swapping vocal chords is usually for legal reasons. Like, they would potentially be expected to pay a voice actor for each additional “character” they play. Which is fair to some degree because playing a character playing a character must be super taxing.

I actually feel like this is the strongest season. There aren’t any bad episodes, and as far as standout episodes, you’ve got the eye-phone, time traveling, and this one. Any show would kill to have a season where the “bad” episodes are the v-giny and the cats one.

Hm weird. Several of these modern episodes are among my favorites, like "The Late Phillip J. Fry" or "Benderama". Meanwhile, several episodes from the original run are among my least favorite, like "That's Lobstertainment" or "Where no fan has gone before."

The math actually isn't that hard to wrap your head around either, I don't think, but I'm math-oriented so maybe I'm underselling it lol. The different (mind,body) combinations can kind of be placed together like dominoes, like (fry,professor),(professor,bender),(bender,prince), etc. If it loops back around, that's a "group," and you can start the process over with any remaining people to get more groups. From there, you're able to introduce 2 new people, X and Y, and they prove that you can just have X swap across the cycle in a group some arbitrary amount, but on the last swap (or maybe 2 swaps I forget) of the cycle, you instead do some specific swaps involving Y, so that the original group ends up entirely correct, but X and Y have swapped minds *without directly swapping themselves.* You can repeat the process for every group until everyone's back in order, then if X and Y are still incorrect, they can directly swap and everyone involved is back to normal!

The more I think about it, the more strange Leela and Fry being romantic in the professor and Zoidberg's bodies is. I mean think about it, Zoidberg's kind die after they mate so how is Fry/Zoidberg still alive?... My only logical explanation for this is Zoidberg's body was the bottom in this situation. XD
