She's a polyphonic contralto. Both the vocal quality and its type are very rare in the world's population. Basically, she can sing very, very low for a female but... she even goes beyond a contralto's limit with her high notes. And the polyphonic part means that she can sing two notes at once! That's why it's so hunting and it seems like 2 or more people are singing at the same time. Hope that clears some things. Undoubtedly, she herself and her voice are very, very rare. 🤗

Shamanic, almost demonic voice (but in a good way), and she is only 18. Imagine her in 10 years from now. Diana has a rare contralto - lowest female voice type, plus you can hear her polyphonic singing in this performance, if I am not wrong. It sounds like there are more persons than one, but it's just her, and she is singing two notes at once with this strong, supernatural voice. Very powerful, sticks in your mind for a long time! 💥💥💥 I recommend her cover of Wicked Game, too.

The show is called ShowMaskGoon. 9 singers compete with each other and evaluate the performance of their rivals themselves with points from 2 to 9 according to the Eurovision system. In each episode, the organizers assign the singers to perform in a specific genre. The genre Diana performed in this issue is called "Grammy". She was supposed to perform with a Grammy winner song. She chose the song by Elvis Presley, but she performed it absolutely in her own way, in minor key. In fact, only the words remained from the song. 6 episodes of the show have already passed. In each Dinana sang in different genres - folk song, rock, movie song, on Saturday there will be the seventh edition. So far, Diana is in the first place.

At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. Thanks for your reaction. Diana is just 18yo here and has many other incredible performances. I recommend Wicked Game (15yo) or Rechenka (14yo) or even Human (15yo) to discover way more and other colours to Diana’s voice. Her voice type (a true dramatic contralto) is the rarest that you can find and no one else on the planet has mastered its unique range and timbre along with the use of polyphonic overtones quite like Diana, especially at her age. Diana has a truly special voice it is literally one in seven billion, she also happens to be a wonderful and kind young spirit as well. The show is called "Show Must Go On" and consists of nine singers who have won other competitive singing shows. There is also a different guest professional on each episode making it 10. The nine singers have nine categories to sing from and don't get to choose the songs (outside of the "singer's choice" category). This particular one was from the Grammy category. Diana had won "You are Super!" two consecutive seasons. They're all pretty damn talented and unknown as their careers have pretty much just started. This show isn't quite like other competitions in that the singers are also the judge and it uses eurovision voting where you have to assign points from 9 to 2 and you can't assign the same amount more than once each day (so somebody always gets a 2 even if everyone knocked it out of the park on a day). There's a daily vote and the winner of the daily tally does an encore performance to send the episode off. This is from the first episode and Diana sang last, got mostly 9s, and sang an encore performance being the daily winner. Diana is currently in first on the cumulative total as of last weekend. Another thing that makes this show somewhat unique is that it is a lighthearted competition with a lot of banter between the singers after each performance. It's not like they are fighting for the first opportunity (as they have already won other shows and gone on to start their careers). It also has the craziest VR projector tech. The people on stage can't see it but everyone can see all these huge VR projections that can transform the stage (some performances use it more than others). As for Diana; One of the best. Her western covers are always fire. Especially the older songs like Wicked Game (Chris Isaak), "Maybe I, Maybe You" (Scorpions), and Take On Me (A-ha).
