Dimash was only 22 here, about to turn 23, and the youngest contestant. Unlike the TV singing competitions in the West, The Singer contestants were all professionals invited to appear. Dimash was the Wild Card, the only foreigner, and obviously they were shocked.

He was 22 years old. He was recruited by a young Chinese man for their called I Am Singer. It lasted 3 months and he would have to work with instrumental/Orchestral musicians and he up set them because he wanted to arrange all of his music. They recognized his brilliance though.

This was a Chinese competition, called Singer, for professional Chinese singers. They were all ages. Dimash was the youngest ever to be on the show at 22. Also the first not to be Chinese. Someone from the show saw him and invited him to take part. No one knew who he was or what he would do. Part of the fun was watching the reactions of the other singers. In every performance they showed the people waiting to go on. I doubt his clothes were forced on him. This particular outfit was a little curious, I admit. This was a very classy show. Full orchestra, back up singers, great lighting and their songs were as long as they needed them to be. I’m from the US and the singing contests here and around the world don’t hold a candle to this. Just a note…Dimash had to sing first for the first round. A Kazakh boy, singing a French song(he doesn’t speak French, on a Chinese singing show(he spoke no Chinese)and he won the first round. He sang SOS. Overnight he became huge in China and the rest is history. He needed security the next day when he went out. He has sung several versions of SOS. This is a song by Queen. Dimash didn’t speak any English at this time and learnt the song phonetically. Dimash does sing a Queen medeley with a group called Super Vocal Boys, It’s worth checking out.

In several of the performances, the Chinese show made him wear cloths from their wardrobe. It was not his choice in his clothing. Also, Dimash is tall. 6'3" a a bit over that, so their clothes were always too short for him.

He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to. This is from the show called I am a Singer 2017. He was 22 at the time. A Chinese competition show for professional singers and Dimash was invited as a wild card competitor. This is the show that launched him internationally. Because of rules of the show in 2017 he was unable to win because he was not of Chinese nationality, but I believe he placed second.

This was age 22 on this show called “ I am a singer” those are contestants he’s competing against, all professional singer in China, he took 2nd place in the competition, even though he was the best. However he was an invited guest, they could not let him win, he was the only non Chinese participating, he took 2nd place. After this show he started touring his popularity skyrocketed. He died on Aids. I'm guessing that you aren't aware that this is a Queen cover. Brian May (the guitarist) wrote it for Freddie Mercury to sing. It was close to the end of Freddie's life, so the lyrics are very poignant. Dimash changed it up a LOT! Re. his clothing.....I'm not certain but I've read more than once that he more or less had to wear clothes from the wardrobe for the show. Being that he is 6'3" and most Asians are on the shorter side, you can see how short his pants always are. LOL. Some say it was the style at the time....but I'm not so sure of that. Anyway, greetings from a Las Vegas Dear and I'm looking forward to more Dimash reactions! P.S. He was 22 going on 23 at the time. He's 27 now.
