So, I had my daughter 4 years ago in an all-natural home water birth. I was in labor for 17 and a half hours. The first wave of labor felt like strong period cramps but I breathed through that stage. The second wave of labor was when I realized this was going to get really bad. I remember the pain was so intense it made me nauseous. The third stage of labor felt like death in slow motion. It felt like being cut in half with a chainsaw while my pelvis and lower spine were being broken apart. For hours. The pain felt like more than the human body should be able to endure. And every stage of labor makes the length of the contractions longer and the time between them shorter so by the time you're in the final stage of labor, the contractions feel almost constant. When it came time to push, I was too exhausted to stop pushing during the ring of fire and I tore, minorly, in 3 places but didn't even feel the pain of that over the pain of the contractions. All I felt was a "pop". Once she was out, I still had to push out the placenta, gently so it would come out in one piece. After a quick visit to the hospital to get a clean bill of health came 6 weeks of bleeding as my uterus flushed while waking every 2-3 hours to breastfeed. It was a hellish rollarcoaster that I will never ride again. That being said, I love my daughter more than any other living being on earth and it's such an adventure to get to see the world fresh again through her eyes.

18:09 lol. I have severe low back pain. I tried a TENS unit I ordered on Amazon and had it on level 20 (probably different than yours at the same level if different brand) and it did not touch my pain. But one I got that the doc ordered and insurance paid for years ago (much better quality) had electricity that reached in deeper and was much better at pain relief. Highest I ever had it was 68. Gave myself skin burns a few times from having it on so high for so long. But that's the level of pain I deal with. I'm not "insane," but the pain sure makes me FEEL like I'll go insane. Kudos for trying to get a sense of what labor is like. I never had a baby so I can't compare. But I've often thought it's a bummer to have this much pain for so long and not get the reward of a baby of my own for all my struggle. Chronic pain sucks. I'm glad for my old TENS unit. The new one is useless, imo.

This is the most committed effort I've seen of a guy trying to get as close as possible and standing the contractions closer to the intensity and duration of the contractions. Good effort.

After a spinal trauma, TENS was my life-saver. I lived with it at level 12 for anywhere up to 14 hours a day and it barely felt like a tickle compared to the pain without it! However, this was a while ago and the intensity of modern machines is probably greater! Kudos for trying it, Matt!

I am 66 y.o. and not a young mom anymore. That being said, my first child I was in labor with from Wed. 1p.m. until Friday at 11:34a.m. I ended up having to have a C-section after all of the labor, and my son weighed 12 lb! My husband, a Marine Corps D.I. was in the Daddy room turning green. (I was told later) Kudos to these guys who are trying this to at least making an effort to understand what their wives go through during labor. Keep up the good work, guys! 😊👍

Today you would have had a c section scheduled for that baby. Wow, that’s actually terrifying you went through that. I’m glad they gave you c section cuz the baby was way too big for natural birth.

@@missjoasia123 You better believe it! And, these days they also would not have allowed me to go through labor for almost 2 days. I was only 19 years old and scared to death! Also, I was very very tired. Today, he is a large man, and his sisters call him "No Neck". Thanks for your kind words 🙂

Great video. I applaud you, sir, for going the distance! 👍 Of course labor sometimes lasts for 30+ hours! And the leads needed to be a little lower & into the groin & maybe one on your lower back. 🤣 I would relate it to the WORST diarrhea cramps EVER yet you can't poop & the cramps keep coming harder until they never quit! And then they say you can't push even though every muscle in your body says PUSH! And after the baby comes ya gotta do it again for the afterbirth. But just one look at that little being and you'd do it all over again. 🤗💞 My hubby rescued my little labor nurse from me! He'd gone to the restroom and when he came back I was whipping at the nurse w/a wet wash rag while screaming "I don't want no more damn contractions!" over & over! I remember that very vividly. 🤣

And some of us go through labor for 12 to 24 hours. With the most intense labor being only a couple mins apart for hours.
