I just watch this entire first season on Netflix in two nights I'm a 47 year old American guy who cannot believe how much I have fell in love with this character Julia I would have thought that this would never be the kind of woman that I would even interest me but the way she talks and moves and so successful is awesome love the show

Julia is a rare female character who doesn't show her power by wearing exquisite makeup, couture clothes, high heels or dressing like a warrior. She conveys her charm and position with her confident movements, voice, quick wits, dry humor and a bit of sarcasm mixing with glimpses of warmness. She's an ambitious person who's a bit aggressive and willing to take risks; at the same time, she's also a very charming and intelligent woman who deals her relationship with David with sincerity, respect, understanding and true affection. There's no condescension in her attitude in this relationship although she's the one in dominance. Keeley Hawes porytrays her with perfectly marvelous acting in such an effortless way which makes you feel like she's a real person. I enjoy every second of her screentime.

They have just shown Bodyguard over here in germany. I was shocked when the lovely Keeley was killed, and really thought it was just a scam, to get her out of the limelight, so that she would appear in the last episodes and help find the terrorists. Also of course continue her affair with the brilliant David. Enthralling to the very end, and so very real... Brilliant acting from all involved, and a great soundtrack and short video Lucy Tan. Started watching Bodyguard and watching this attraction between Budd and Julia was hot. Then they killed her off?!?!!!??? Why????? The idiots producing shows work overtime to fail. Stop killing off main characters. Hire writers who are talented enough to keep audiences interested. Keeley Hawes is timeless. Very pretty but she truly becomes the characters she portrays. So underrated. And Richard Madden....love his performance.....and so fine. Wow.

I can't believe it!!! I'm struggling for a well written show that I can watch for more than 3 episodes. In the US shows are so dumbed down and predictably drenched in gratuitous sex and violence with zero character development that you don't have a chance to really make sense of characters' actions. And on the the flip side, international programs start off very strong but every time you turn around main characters are being killed off and you're like why did I bother watching and growing attached to characters just for them to be eliminated senselessly!!!!! I'm so frustrated with television. May be time for me to turn mine off??? Give me a book!

But personally I think the real reason to kill off Julia is as simple as that he doesn't know how to continue her relationship with David outside the hotel room, nor does he want to make the show a political drama. A cop and criminal/anti-terrorism thriller is a much safer territory for him.

Hi Lucy. Thanks for your video. Really appreciate it 👍🏻. Just finished bodyguard recently. Still can’t move on from DJ couple 😂. When I check keeley on Wikipedia, her real name Claire Julia hawes, coincidentally she portrayed Julia in this series 😊. Their chemistry so real. Just from their eyes, when they look each other I can feel their emotion. The story really amazing, a lot of plot twists that unpredictable until the end of the episode. I need Julia back for season 2 🤣. IMO David and Julia are iconic role from Richard madden and Keeley hawes. I know Richard from movie Cinderella. But in this series he really made me speechless. His eyes, body language, micro expression really natural and also I can understand what David feeling just from it. I’m rarely watch west series. I watch Chinese drama more than west series because I want to learn Chinese. Really hope that bodyguard will have season 2,3,4,etc 😄. Peace and love from Indonesia 🇮🇩.
