do they sell those winglets separately without the wings and the airplane. I wanna hook it up to my CR-V and see if it actually hellps the fuel efficiency..

If I recall correctly from the NASA ebook: The Apollo of Aeronautics, McDonnell Douglas was one of the industry leaders working with NASA during the ACEE Program. Research for winglets was done on the MD-10. By doing so, they quickly integrated this technology into their MD-11 in 1986. Also, Boeing and McDonnel Douglas merged in 1997! The Boeing 737 MAX winglets are original in their own way.

It have a bit difference between the 737 Max wing let with the Airbus old wing let. It is a 3-wat hybird which mix the old 737 wing let with blended winglet and the wing tip fence (which air bus used.) Also this winglet's lower winglet is much bigger than any winglet before it. But I do agree that Airbus's winglet really just looks like Boeing's 737 NG winglet

1950's is a little too soon. :P NASA Ebook: The Apollo of Aeronautics Page 53 & 54 - It states that Whitcomb developed the idea, of winglets, in 1974 and published the results of his study in July 1976.

u need to widen the pinch pnt of the V to a curve, & the vertical winglet should b 65% to 35% for bottom n size. I called it a tune fork design & when done right should make the ride much smoother.

do you know if the max will include any of the dreamliner tech, like electric packs, etc? also will it retain the old overhead panel with the typical switches or will it transition to a newer one, like the 777 or dremliner?.

The MAX comes in three different models, the MAX-7 will be the smallest, flying the shortest routes. The MAX-8 will be the base model of which the MAX-7 is shortened from and the MAX-9 is stretched, and will fly more passengers than the -7. The MAX-9 is the most efficient, highest in capacity and has longest range of all of the new 737 MAX family.

i think he means that the new airbus sharklets look similar to boeing´s winglets and airbus winglets look like new boeing´s winglets
@N0616JCProductions12 жыл бұрын
Very true. Also, given that MD was merged with Boeing, that means, in a sense, Boeing have this technology decades before EADS/Airbus. Some people don't study their aviation history well. Also, those winglet look nothing like those from Airbus, the A380 have to same type of winglet (wing fences actually), as everyone of their aircraft with the exception of A300/330/400.
