Amazing achievement for 1994. All the jerks making derogatory remarks have no idea what it takes to scratch build and fly a model like that. Keeping all four glow fueled ducted fans was a miracle in itself. Thanks for sharing.

Depends on the country and/or locality you're in, and the type of plane or helicopter you'll be flying. For example, in the Netherlands, aircraft powered by petrol & other fuel engines need to be flown in specially designated areas and require licenses because of Schiphol airport, which is located pretty centrally in the country and is the main air hub for Europe. In many other, larger countries, like France, Germany and Spain, the regulations are generally less strict.

Only thru KZbin could I have see such incredible thing like a 747 rc jet. The landing was wobbly, I'd say. Maybe because of the weight?

Mostly the larger size carries insurance and safety concerns by several governing entities, so proof of financial liability is required. This flight looks like it was performed at a functioning airstrip(because of the size) in Europe, although not an large heavy aircraft one, some sort of permission and traffic concerns were obtained. In the states most RC flyers stay low enough, even in city areas to avoid any airspace concerns.

Very nice! The landing needs a bit of practice but at least it didn't crash. It blows my mind how a real-life jumbo jet, weighing several thousand tons, can actually get off the ground. Great work on the model guys. :)

This 747 is not the only plane built by Wilfried. He also built a fabulous 'Kiebitz', a real plane (PH 3W2). And I'm not exaggerating when I say that Wilfried would be an ace in wartime! On You Tube you can see his masterpieces: BOEING 747 RC & Kiebitz & eurostar. Unfortunately the grass was too high for his 747.

Stand on the very beginning point of the "RUNWAY" to do a landing. That way you'll get more accurate control of timing to hit ground, since you'll be standing behind the plane while it's floating couple of inch above runway.

Obviously he's the guy that fixes and tinkers with the model, and considering that model cost more than that jumpsuit, I don't think it's a far stretch. And if you can read, the description clearly states this is it's maiden launch of a built from scratch model jet liner. After all the time I sure it took to buy, build, and paint, at this point not taking it seriously would be a trajedy. Besides, he's clearly with the NTSB. I saw this episode on Mayday.

Well all RC planes are UAV's already. (unmanned aerial vehicle). ATC is a function of federal airspace. Technically as long as you stay outside controlled airspace there is no transponder or notifications necessary.

This is not a RC plane, this is video that was sent to us by the giants from the planet that flight 407 (which disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1976 with all 296 passengers on board.) landed on after getting lost in some fog. They have finally finished fixing their jet so that they can make their way back to earth.
@Pjotje1
@Pjotje1 11 жыл бұрын
It was a terribleaccident but it was a collision (not a crash) between two planes on the runway. The accident was caused by a combination of thick fog and poor radio communication. Both KLM and PanAm accepted responsibility, but actually neither airline was to blame. It was pure politics. Only after this accident equipment was made to enable planes to see through fog and to prevent interference on the radio channels used by airplanes. Please check your facts before hating.
