IR student here, ill give it my best shot- since the static pressure indicates your on the ground not moving, but the dynamic pressure (ram air) going into the pitot tube indicates your moving through the air, since the ASI takes the difference between static and dynamic pressure, it will have the ASI be "jumpy" since it is taking in different dynamic pressures. With the VSI, it only uses static pressure, and shows trends- I assume it has something to the pressure inside of the VSI changes with the change of air pressure- But im no CFII, and couldnt explain it more than that.

The wind is moving the AOA sensors and going into the pitot tubes which indicate airspeed and when you set it to a tailwind, it's so strong it brushes over the tubes so their is no indication

What I really want to see is good wing flex and some good lighting. On the og 777 the external lights look really bad especially the beacon.

Because the wind is not only recorded in the Pitot Probe but also affects the AOA Sensor which deflects with the wind, causing variations even on the ground.

- As Far as Altimeter - it measures static pressure of and around the aircraft- as the aneoroid wafers expand and contract with changes in pressure due to the changing pressure around the aircraft, the altimeter will change
